Again thats you being biased. There is no way you can fully say that you know 100% Lundqvist wouldn't have fallen from that contact. Goalies are fixated on the puck, they aren't prepared for any contact, especially after the whistle has blown the play dead. Like I said, I'm not defending how hard he fell, I'm simply saying he very well could have been off balance from that. Its not like he laid flat on his back looking up at the rafters for 10 seconds (ahem Crosby on the subtle nudge by Hagelin that couldn't knock a 12 year old down). Lundqvist did jump right back up and didn't complain or say a word to the ref.
Again Lappy you can 100% prove that he did not have his face touched. This is not a debatable thing. - xcheckmajor
And you aren't being biased? Got it. King dove on a bump that a 12 year old doesn't act like he gets plowed over. the 12 year old remains standing. This is not a debatable thing. I don't care what you think to be honest either.
UMMM ... Hagelin should have been called for interference. Anyone with half a brain knows this. I question if you have half a brain. Big different ... Crosby wasn't looking as Hagelin intentionally plowed into him.
You aren't going to convince me at all for anything so save your breath. |

When the D has started pinching down the wall in the 3rd periods to keep the puck in NY zone it has been effective. Or they could just lose another close 2-1 game. - LetsGoPens!!
That's once the puck is already in their zone. I consider wide open hockey to be our D men making outlet passes to our forwards through the neutral zone with speed to gain entry. Just less congested hockey in general. |

So, you want to gamble Letang and Maatta remain healthy? That is a bigger gamble than putting 10,000 down next year for the Sabres to win the Stanley Cup. - Oneonta Penguin
Yeah, screw it. If they have as many injuries next year as usual, it's another lost season. I'd rather just take a bullet to the head instead of OD on painkillers. Looks like a 3rd straight year of no offense knocking the Pens out so I would rather focus on that and go with the young dmen. |

They have been said. Why don't you do some reading. Don't act like there aren't any equitable deals out there. If you don't believe it, you are a fool. 9.5 million for basically a 71-point guy that plays 65 games per year. Is that a wise investment? Nope. But there certainly are GMs that wouldn't be able to help contain themselves if they got the call. - Oneonta Penguin
Also, 71 pts is the new 100 pts. |

Same exact thing Downie did, except Downie did it with his shoulder. Either theyre both penalties or neither is a penalty. - thickman1178
Lol....how do you even come up with this post? Same thing as Downie? Downie was called for interference, Moore was called for roughing. Downie was called for interference because it was a late hit that caused McDonagh to be interfered with and unable to participate in the play. Moore was called for roughing because he made imaginary contact to a players head that was already changing lines and no longer playing. There really is absolutely nothing in common with the 2 penalties and the reason why they were called. |

I also don't care to go find them because they were probably horrible. And its totally irrelevant since you aren't our GM and they aren't trading Malkin. But have fun beating that drum and saying the sky is falling. |

The refs just made the wrong call. Downie bumped a guy nowhere near the puck and Moore bumped a guy no where near the puck. Is that not the definition of interference? Hitting a guy nowhere near the puck.
Now I realize neither was really a "hit" but once they called Downie for it, fair is fair, even if its poopty. I think neither deserved a call. |

NO I'm not being biased. I'm going on facts not opinion. Its your OPINION that lundqvist should not have fallen, its a provable fact that nothing touched Lapierres face. If you can't see that then its your intelligence that I question.
If both players had to stand trial for what happened, can you actually prove that Lundqvist should not have fallen? Or is it based on your opinionated analogy of a 12 year old? And your completely wrong about Hagelin. Why don't you look up the replay. Hagelin was traveling in a complete straight line SLOWLY to his bench. Crosby was up against the boards and pivoted and took 3-4 steps right into Hagelin's skating lane. It was incidental, neither player was trying to make contact. I guarantee you never once looked at a video of it. And the only reason I brought that up was, it was a minor amount of contact and Crosby fell down. I dont think it was embellishment, thats what happens when you get hit sometimes and your not expecting it. Same with Hank. Only difference is, I acknowledged that Hank may have embellished it a little. You can't seem to recognize that it wasnt completely fabricated like Lappy's was. |

Find me a GM who will give us two 60 pts guys for a 71 point guy. Where the length of contract and cap hits are equitable. Somewhere Malkin will waive his NMC to go to.
Please, I implore you...back up your posts and actually provide a tangible trade that makes sense for both sides that is equitable. |

How about the fact that it wasn't even Crosby who bumped Lundqvist? It was the defenseman, I think it was Yandle. Good Lord. What a stupid argument in the first place, they were both clearly embellishment. Trying to argue one was more severe than the other is so moronic. Both were laughably obvious. |

Yep, everything is ok ... we are Cup contenders and are in great shape. Three quality top six forwards; a fragile D; a crappy farm system of forward prospects; no trade assets to bring back any quality in return absent a few; a lousy free agent class and a second and seventh round pick in the deepest draft in recent years. I'd say the sky is falling since we were the eighth seed and needed to beat Buffalo on the final day of the season to get in; we can't score with two generational talents playing ... so ... yep, a lot of positive.
I'm sure you are one of the many that think the trades of Scuderi, Kunitz, Bennett, Lovejoy can bring back great additions to the roster to make us viable competitors.
Keep on thinking everything can be easily fixed and we have minor problems. That's delusional thinking. |

It is a silly argument I agree. My original post was really just saying one player was more like "Hey Ref, did you see that? I got bumped, can you watch for that kinda stuff?" The other was more like "He hit my face! Did you see that, oh man, my jaw, he hit my face!" I don't think either one deserved a penalty but Moore got one.

Please oh please shut up w/ all the missed/wrong penalties being called! Every team in every series since the beginning of time have had the same gripes. At the end of a series, usually, and I stress usually, it all equals out. |

It was textbook interference. You don't think so, you need hockey for dummies. You think it was a minor amount of contact? Next thing you will say, King got bumped more than Hagelin nailed Crosby.
It was a little embellishment? When a goalie gets a little bump and keels over like he had been shot; the same bump that a 12-year old remains standing ... I think its more than a little embellishment. |

I don't think there are any individual roster players to be signed, but having the flexibility to add one top 6 forward like a Frolik or Parenteau and then solidifying the 3rd and 4th lines with contributors can make a difference. God willing, this will be the first year they don't have non-NHL players on the roster (Sill, Adams). |
