We call that hypernatremia in the bizz
I'd imagine you'd suffer from isovolemic hypernatremia.
If I remember correctly, you'd probably get a nice loop diuretic. I'll check though.
EDIT: better option would be vasopressin. First, just drink a bunch of water though to see if it goes away. If not, we'll give you the vasopressin IV. So there's that. Enjoy. |

I think RNH would solve so many issues here. - SuperSchennBros
He would, but he won't be available -- they barely have enough centers even when you factor in the likely drafting of McDavid.
This is a team that literally started the season with Mark Arcobello as its 2C, because they had nothing better.
If they wouldn't move Hall or Eberle before, they aren't going to now as well, not before they see what the team looks like |

my opinion? no. because they are what they are. mediocre. it was just make it easier to tolerate.
the team would also be different anyway, had they won in 2010. maybe better? maybe worse. who knows. but i'd have those memories and never let go of them. - hammarby31
The memory of the Boston comeback, particularly game 7, is so vivd in memory. The sting of losing in those finals still hurts for me. If they'd won, it obviously wouldn't change the current reality of the team. It'd still be an enormous lift for me though.
Of course, I can only speak for myself. |

I think that is the guy Edm would keep, having him would help McDavid immensely.
RNH is what we need though... |

If I were McDavid , I go to the KHL for a couple years, believe he was drafted there, and avoid the Edmonton nightmare - twpguy
On a scale from 1 to "Nuclear Explosion", just how much would a move to the KHL by MdDavid make Don Cherry's head explode? |

Fine job as always Sir!!
I think what frustrates the fans is the following:
From 1972 to 1989
-17 straight playoff appearances
-10 trips to the Cup semifinals/conference finals
-6 appearances in the Cup finals
-2 Stanley Cup championships
-Hall of Fame players in the prime of their careers: Parent, Clarke, Barber & Howe
However since 1989
-25 total seasons, missed the playoffs in 8 of them
-in the other 17 years, out in the first round 7 times
-only 6 trips to the conference finals
-only 2 finals appearances
-no cups
-Other than Lindros, who should be in the Hall, no hall of fame players in their primes as both Coffey and Pronger were on the down sides of their careers
And, since the lockout
-missed the playoffs 3 times in 10 seasons
-only reached the conference finals twice and the finals once
Since the 2010 finals, the club has missed the playoffs twice and only won 2 rounds total
I completely understand why fans are frustrated as the club has not been the same type of "elite" franchise that they were in the 70s and 80s in recent years. - BiggE
It's a tough thing to accomplish. This franchise has also had a lot of bad luck over the years, mostly with key injuries to key players, that have cost them. Despite the lack of Cup wins in the last 40 years, the Flyers have been a highly successful franchise. I think they are again on an upswing, and I think the Flyers will be back in the top rankings of the NHL before too long. |

Todd McLellan is officially out of San Jose now.
Hextall just might have an even bigger opportunity this summer to turn things around for the Flyers then Holmgren ever did. The Draft is deep. The Coaching UFAs are legitimate big names. With Edmonton getting another first overall pick and not being the most savvy of franchises in recent history, all eyes should be on them to pick their pocket. I personally wouldn't bother offering anything for the first round pick. I would look heavily into one of Ryan Nugent Hopkins or Taylor Hall. I'm more so within the majorty of drafting players and as someone mentioned T-Mac wants to much for players who haven't proven a lot hell of a lot yet. I think a team could for his hand or maybe a player who doesn't want to be there anymore. I wouldn't give up much more then Tampa's first, Scott Laughton and Andrew MacDonald, which to some might be a serious low ball. - SuperSchennBros
Well you obviously know it is a serious low ball so I won't be mean. Here is a more realistic offer for either of them:

They should have gone back to Boucher after game 5. At least then if we had lost game 6 at home it wouldn't have been with that AHL fraud in net. - Feanor
i would have liked seeing boucher get a shot. leighton did struggle in the finals unfortunately, and yet he still won 2 games and was an OT goal away from 3. it sucks. i will never hate on leighton though. i just won't. |

It's that whole "dance with the girl you came with." Although, they got in with Boucher, and he did win the NJ series. But Leighton had just come off of 3 shutouts in a 5-game ECF. They were going with Leighton unless he got injured. |

I agree to some extent, but, I can only speak for myself, if we had won the cup in 2010, I'd still be pretty happy about it. Also, while certainly not a given, I have to wonder in Laviolette is still coaching in Philly if they had won in 2010.
Now, if they had won in 80 or 87, I totally agree with you. It would have no effect whatsoever on how I feel today.
I think what worries me is that I'm not happy with the overall direction/success rate that the club has had since 2010. However, I do think a lot of that is due to Holmgren trying to patch over the loss of Pronger by making some short sighted moves.
So far, for the most part, I like what Hextall has been doing and hopefully he can get the team moving in the right direction. I just hope the fans and ownership will stay patient and give him a chance, he won't be able to transform this team into a contender overnight, it will take time. - BiggE
No, I think it's safe to say that you would be speaking for a majority of people here, myself included. |

Not to nitpick -- because you've done some excellent work here, Bill -- But Pronger lead the Oilers on a Cup in 2006 (I think you wrote 1996) v. Carolina. - Moose_15

Laviolette's been known to have a quick hook with the girl he came to the dance with. Usually throws her aside for the hottest girl at the moment at the dance.
I mean, he invited a future Vezina beauty to the dance the next year, then 40 minutes in, told the poor kid to scram. Poor kid spent the rest of the week alone in the pressbox. |
