As good as this draft is expected to be, next year at this point is apparently better
- ob18

They have an extra 4th next season. I'm looking at a shot at Svechnikov or Chabot as a good thing

I'd be pretty giddy if the Flyers pull a Russian combo in the 1st...

I wouldn't take a goalie with a first round pick this year
- aflyerpower8

I mean, if Blackwood is projected to go in the first few picks of the 2nd round, and our pick ends up being 29th or 30th, then what's really the difference?

Fills 2 needs with skill. Unfortunately unless the Flyers trade up with Tampa's pick (25, 26 or 30th position) up to possibly 15-17, I don't see how they would get Svechnikov. Best bet would be trading with Calgary or Edmonton (Luke says Heeeey).

Thoughts of the day

1. Teebow in philly must mean bradford is getting delt for mariotta
2. Hexy should get McLellan ASAP

It would definitely excite me if Hexy goes off the board and hires a junior or AHL coach or something like that.

Well you obviously know it is a serious low ball so I won't be mean. Here is a more realistic offer for either of them:

Scheens + PHI 1st + Hagg

- coffee junkie

Mean how? While I admit that I've follow balled an offer, you might have very much offered way too much. At least my offer comes with a natural center who could be best valued on the second or third line.

He would, but he won't be available -- they barely have enough centers even when you factor in the likely drafting of McDavid.

This is a team that literally started the season with Mark Arcobello as its 2C, because they had nothing better.

If they wouldn't move Hall or Eberle before, they aren't going to now as well, not before they see what the team looks like

- AllInForFlyers

I think this is a more a realistic mindset, athough I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss anything. Hall, Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins are all 6 million dollars a piece players but interesting enough RNH is the one of the three who has underachieved and could very much become the second line center behind McDavid. Hall has a 80 point season, Eberle a 76 point season, Nugent-Hopkins has never passed 56 point. I'm not saying at 22 years of age he'll never improve seeing how he's the youngest of the three, he's just being paid too much at such a young age and that point production might struggle even more behind McDavid on a bad team. 18 million between three players is crazy in my opinion.

I don't think Blackwood is expected to go until mid-late 2nd round. Someone may get antsy and take him, but there will still be decent goalies available with the 2nd or 3rd rounders, should they choose to draft one with those picks.

It's a long shot but they could easily get a guy like Filip Chlapik if they can't move up.

Totally would have made the playoffs if we made that trade.

other moves needed to be made, like getting an nhl coach behind the bench first but yea.
