For all the hype Tarasenko gets, it's been his lax D coverage that has been a big difference in this series (STL line minus 3 last night). Especially compared with guys like Parise, Granlund, Pominville, who have been very good defensively.

Any way you look at it, that was a very disconcerting way to lose. It's one thing to get outplayed but to only muster 17 shots on goal and maybe one real quality scoring chance? In a pivotal game 3? I have already mentally prepared myself for another early exit.

Just wondering what Blues fans think... Would you prefer the Blues utilize all the skill they have and just play hockey? Or do you prefer to see all the extra curricular tactics that clearly hinder the skill aspects of the Blues game?
- MnGump

Most of that stuff is just frustration boiling over when you're losing. If anything I would say that the Blues have not been physical enough and trying to rely too much on skill. For all the talk of the Blues being the big physical team, the hits are even and I've barely noticed our fourth line which should be a big part of our identity.

Lineup I would like to see Wednesday

Steen Backes Oshie
Schwartz Lehtera Tarasenko
Jokinen Statsny Berglund
Porter Goc Reaves

Pie Bo
Shatty Michalek
Borts Jax

lineupe we will see

Probably the exact same dumpster fire we saw last night

Kudos to the wild they played a great game

Doesnt matter if the blues played a great game or didnt show up the wild probably win that game with that effort.

Time to move on and win Wednesday

The Blues, they way they are built can only play by utilizing both their skill and physical play. When one element is missing, they lose, deservedly so.

They cannot match the speed and skill of a team like Minnesota or Chicago if they play on skill alone and try to skate with them. And game one and three are examples of their lack of desire to work hard and just try to intimidate after the whistle.

To me, that's nothing more than being lazy and not willing to play the game to the max.

For their effort to be what it has been in two of the three games so far is disturbing.

But at least he's scoring. The offense has to come from somewhere, and right now that's the only line that's producing.

Just gotta vent!!!!

Ill start by giving the Wild credit for playing with the desire and determination that any playoff team should have. Good for them.

Where is the will of this Blues team? I can handle getting beat when the effort is there, but in games 1 & 3 the effort has not been there. How many times do we have to get a decent to quality scoring chance turned to nothing because we shoot 2-5 feet wide or put it directly into the goalies chest? It looks like the Wild have 1 Chris Stewart while the Blues have half a team of him. The disinterest of this team makes me sick!

They bring in different coaches and a few different players with no change in team heart and desire! I would much rather watch a less talented team full of heart and soul guys play and lose than this! If I can see the effort then I can at least deal with loses. Hey Blues players..... Please prove me wrong!!!!!

I have tickets to game 5 that will probably be sold if game 4 goes anything like game 3.

I think a lot of Blues fans actually love jumping off the ledge every year. It's like they anxiously await the Blues losing so they can get angry. We are down 1 game. A win tomorrow and it is a best of 3.

I just don't get a sport/your favorite team causing so much anger. Like the two guys that sit behind me at the games and for 10 years complain non stop, every game. I just don't get that mentality, a loser mentality. Do you just want to be right? And the odds are that the Blues won't win the SC so let's just complain before they are knocked out so I can say, see I knew it!

I would rather be wrong every year and legitimately have fun watching the Blues.

Let's Go Blues! Win tomorrow, and let's get back in the drivers seat in this series.

Would you rather be a Jets fan? Can't imagine the frustration they are feeling right now. Three games lost with three third periods lost.

If what little of there three games I have watched tell the true story than yes. I would rather be in their position because as a team they are giving their all.

Talent will eventually rise to the top if all things are equal. From what I've seen the Ducks and Jets are laying it out on the line and the Ducks just happen to have more talent. I can handle that a lot better than poor efforts.

I completely agree with most of your reply. I have the same type of people sitting around me complaining every time certain players touch the puck. I hate that they buy a ticket (at least half season plans) to sit there and complain for 2+ hours.

I do not want to be right about there compete level in the least, but that is the one thing that has always bothered me the most in all facets of life. It just drives me crazy to see them not put forth the effort.

I hear you Carcus but living where i live and who I see on a daily basis I really just dont want to hear the comments I hear.

Its not about doom and gloom with me its I am tired of being harassed because the blues always fold in the playoffs.

Just one time I want and need the bleus to win a cup or at least go deep i the playoffs so I can get my inlaws off my case.

For the most part its good fun trash talk but at some point it gets old.

I desperately want to be able to say see the blues arent what you guys keep saying they are

On to gave 4

Win and the series is brand new again and the blues have home ice advantage.

Its not like they arent trying they are

the mental game was lacking and therefore the physical game took a backseat and they were chasing most of the game.

On to game 4

I guess part of my problem is that I didn't have any fun watching Game 1. No doubt that was impacted by the result but it was significantly more impacted by the style of the game.

Unfortunately, the more I watch, the more frustrated I get both in the coaching staff and in the players. As one simple example of one of the only highlight's I saw last night, Pie's effort to get back on the first goal last night made him look like Christ Stewart. He lazily skates to go get his stick and even pauses before trying to hustle back into position. This is the playoffs. Where is the team's sense of urgency?

I know Hitch thinks you don't need to motivate players for the playoffs, and maybe you shouldn't have to, but with some of these boys you do and you must or you'll be on the plane out of town soon.

Pie got his bell rung pretty good by another noncall of being pushed pulled down and run in to the post. No excuse but the coaches should have pulled him and let him go to the quiet room. It was a viscious hit to the post.

I'm all for a positive mental attitude and being grateful for being able to watch such a good team all year. If the Blues would have fought hard every game and lost a 6 or 7 gamer than I can live with that.

I'm not saying it's over, because it's not, but the fact of the matter is we GAVE the wild games 1 and 3. The wild played well but not any better than we could play. Should we be fortunate enough to force extra games and lose the series in a hard fought game 7, I will point to games 1 and 3 as the reason we are out early - again.

Wasn't trying to single him out. Frankly, he has been one of the better players throughout the series and much better than prior playoff performances imho. It just was a recent example that illustrated my point.

That sucks about the post contact. Hope it isn't a lasting type thing.

I hear ya man I just wnated to make sure you knew he had his bell rung and that might have contributed to his sluggish behavior.

That is on the staff for not pulling him and putting him in the quiet room

I couldn't have said it any better. For example from a guy talking to me at work. After game 2--blues are gonna win in five if they win game 3. This morning--the blues are already out.

They played their worst of the playoffs last night yes. With the history of how this team has played over the years, I see a great effort coming tomorrow night. I felt like last night was much more of a must win for the Wild and in all honestly they played like it. This series isn't over.
