BAM! I bet Stoll will be available to any team this offseason:

http://espn.go.com/los-an...suspicion-drug-possession

And the 1st comment is brilliant!!
"When Sutter told him he was on the fourth line Stoll responded, "No coach I'm on my sixth."

That name is more historical. There were tons of slaughterhouses back in the day but now it's filled with bars and clubs.

at this point there really is no chance without their presence on the blueline.

Of course there's a chance. It's just the chance decreases significantly without the good puck movers (Letang, Erhoff, Maata and Pouliot). Pens need to stay out of the box and Fleury needs to play as good or better as the first game. Tall orders I know but there's a chance.

I don't think there was any chance even with them in the lineup. The Penguins are not really a team at all. Just 2-3 players with super skill surrounded by mediocrity. No leadership, no heart, We might win a game (or two), but there is no way we'll win 4 out of 7... and that's against ANY team including those that are not in the playoffs.

I wish I had your optimism and unbridled attitude. But, alas, what you have seen in the last 5 months is what you get.

Best winning % in the league until the injuries hit. They would be a great team if they stayed healthy and there is no way they would of been 8th seed.

i'm stating that there's a chance. It's sports. There's always a chance. I'm not blind or ignorant to what's happened the past few months or how the injury issues have turned them upside down. Just stating there's a chance is all.

Sure there is a chance. For me, anything above getting swept in this round is a bonus. I hope they prove me wrong like LA did a few years back.

Yeah, all I hoped for from this series was for them to battle and compete. Not to be swept. I think though, if they could manage to win this series, it would launch them through the rest of the east. Big if.

i agree here. i think if they magically somehow win this series, they would be able to come out of the east. this really was the worst possible matchup for them.

however, i dont see them winning more than a game. but yeah, i want to see the battle and compete level.

after the first period, it was there for the most part.

geno specifically, still looks like he is laboring out there.

but he had 2 or 3 shifts in the third where he was giving 110 percent, generating chances for those around him.

sucks none were capitalized, but i still respected the effort.

kunitz and perron are the ones that are bothering me the most.

Malkin def looks hurt pretty bad. I think he's been hurt for quite some time. I give him credit, but we might see an off season surgery for him. Reminds me of Maata a bit.

Kuni and Perron......at this point Kuni isn't worth much on the market and if this is what Perron is, I hope they dont resign him. I hate they traded a 1st for him. Sutter/prospect would have been fine.

Geno does not look like Geno Machino. IF we can limit it to a couple of penalties and play like we did in the 2nd and third we could luck out and earn a split. If we do that we have a chance. We have little to lose and it would put some pressure on the Rags.

I have decided we don't expect much, have drink, kick back and watch and see what happens. At least we are still playing hockey. Enjoy the ride, once the train pulls out and you are on board might as well enjoy the ride.

yeah i dont think its machino level, but i still think he is gimpy out there. he doesnt look like he has that gear. but it doesnt appear to be from lack of trying.

The thing about Perron is you watch him play and sometimes he can be brilliant. He hasn't been lately, but he has the tools to turn it around. I think over the offseason management needs to have a talk with him and express that he can be part of solution but laziness will not be tolerated. Otherwise he can play in an environment such as Edmenton again.

Perron is a lot like Neal in his first 1/2 season here in 2011.

i think it's crazy to talk about trading him, especially when his value is a lot lower than what it was when we acquired him. you cant sell low.

i see a top 6 next year of Crosby, Malkin, Perron, and Hornqvist with 2 spots open.
-Does Dupuis come back and earn a spot?
-does the coach put Bennett in that position?
-is there an external solution to bring in via trade or signing?

As for DK's piece about buying out veterans, i'm not surprised.
i think it comes down to Kunitz vs Scuderi. With both of their terms and salaries pretty close, I would think it's Scuderi just based on who can replace him and at the cost it would take to replace him.

I think Kunitz has a small value that doesnt constitute a buyout.

I think you try to dump one of Spaling/Sutter at the draft. there should be a small market for either player.

Let Martin and Hoff walk, let the guys like Harrington and Dumolin crack the lineup and let guys like Maatta and Pouliot expand their minutes. Lovejoy sucks. nothing you can do about that. Cole is a very good piece who reminds me of Matt Niskanen. Will be interested to see how he develops here.

Let Griess walk and save some money there. A guy like Griess is a nice luxury but in the Penguins case, i think it's a luxury we cant afford.

Hopefully Martin and Erhoff can score us a couple of picks for thier rights... anything really... find a team really hoping to score on D in FA, they may be willing to give up a 2nd to get early rights on both of them. If you can't find that sweet of a deal, I dont think its absurd to think they could pull 3rd/4th round pick for thier rights pre July 1.

This post is incredibly on point. Perron needs a talking to but trading him this offseason would be a mistake. Not too worried about our d core moving forward if scuds is bought out. Scuds sucks. Dumo seems ready. He's made mistakes last game , but it's the playoffs . Give him a season of regular play and no way he's worse than Scuderi. Same goes for Pouliot. Still raw but lots of talent. He'll only be better next season. The experience factor can come from Letang, Lovejoy, and Cole. Those three have been around the block and Maatta is wise beyond his years. We will be fine without Martin.
