You maybe misconstruing what I said about Bennett, Bennett is a top 6 player talent wise; not a bottom 6 he is useless there. But unfortunately he is also useless on our top 6 or anyone else's top 6 as well.

Winnik fills a role of a big body that can flourish with Sid, would I rather have someone else sure, but those names don't appear on Ottawa's roster unless their name is Ryan.

- nbartley9

So... why would you want him in our top 6 if he's useless? I wouldn't even include him in this conversation then. And Winnik... the roll of the big body, go to the net guy is named Hornqvist. No point in putting a 3rd line player on the 1st line with Sid. Sorry man, you're dead wrong here. Stone is 22 years old, 61 points, +18 in 78 games.. Perron has 22 points in 41 games with the Pens and is a -7. I'm not sure how that isn't a top 6 player. Sure he's not Kessel, or Benn, or Nash, or Ryan... but he's damn near better than anyone on the Penguins wings, and that's fairly easy to see.

Yes of course, but in a deep draft, picking 15th or 25th the odds decrease.
- Scooby_Doo

When the trade was made no one thought the Pens would potentially be drafting in the top 15. Obviously it was a mistake and Rutherford should have insured his pick with a lottery clause that MacTavish likely wouldn't have thought twice about. But almost every move was made for an eye to the postseason so not making the postseason would make all the decisions mistakes in the long term.

I don't understand your hockey logic. Are you saying that Stone would not be as good a player playing with Crosby as he is with Turris? Remember, Stone is an outstanding defensive player, top take away player.
- spatso

Haha Stone is a good player, he just does not fit what I would want on my top 6, sorry he just isn't. I would love him on our roster I already said that, just not top 6. I would not feel good about going after a Cup with him on my top 6.

My lord no, I don't want him anywhere near our roster at all. I am talking from a talent stand point, not actual ability because Bennett is a turd.

Seriously! What do you think the Pens will do if they miss the playoffs or get swept in the first round?
- spatso

They'll start their off season routine? Isn't that what all teams do when their season is over? That seems like a silly question....

Actually most of the none playoff teams have already begun to signal some of their plans for improvement in the off season.

FWIW most of the games we discuss, including Dark Souls, are console releases as well. So, y;know, go buy a copy right now and get #rekt. :D

But f'real, a little off topicality lends a bit of humanity to these desolate internet wastes.

- BulliesPhan87

it does. you may like a goofy hockey team, but there are a lot of really nice and interesting folks floating around both boards. always good to let that shine through.

and as far as video games go, i have an xbox 360 with maybe 3 or 4 games, and never had internet connection with it haha

i think thats rekted just on principle.

So you were planning on having consensual sex with him, but you're worried he's too young?

Reasonable, I guess. Always err on the side of caution, I say!

if you have a 360 and $20 to spare, you can get rekt for reals.

As for my goofy team, well, it's in my blood. A leopard can't change it's spots twice a day, or whatever.

i am not saying this because i am overacting to a bad loss, im dead serious, i dont want us to make the playoffs. give it to someone that deserves it. we dont. we are too beat up and it just gets worse everytime we get on the ice.

hang them up early for a year and see if that lights a fire under management to do something about it. i realize there isnt much you can do about injuries. but there is a whole lot that can be done about the cap situation.

theres no need to go into the playoffs when there isnt a chance in heck that you will win. NOT A SINGLE CHANCE.

plus, and this is selfish, i can get an early start on fishing for once in my life.

as far as I know, the Phillies folded and/or relocated a few years ago, after a world series and a couple impressive runs. Also, Metallica disappeared after the Black album and there's only one Star Wars trilogy.

Am I crazy to think it's (frank)ed up to hope your team in any sport doesn't make the playoffs? If the Pens make it I'll be watching them the same as I would any other year. With a 100% belief they can win the cup. When that doesn't happen then I'll return to talking about how poopty they were
