It feels like this over there a lot of the time, too. I guess it's easier to watch when it's not your own fanbase.

Oddly, and I hate to betray my pal bartley, I do agree with most of what Oneonta is saying. I do think he's being obtuse, deliberately or otherwise, about bart's opinion on Bennett though.

- BulliesPhan87

yeah i understand.

theres a good handful of regulars over there that i can talk to about pretty much anything though. its easier to ignore whatever various tiffs that may happen to occur. the only non hockey talk that occurs over here is when you and johnny talk about PC video games, and that stuff is wayyyyyyy over my head.

Ottawa plays:

NYR- best team in hockey, Ott will lose this
PHI- do the flyers really want to help out their arch-rival the Penguins

Pens:

NYI: isles have something to play for and will be heated game
BUF: a gimmie game

- wingz4life

The Oilers were a gimme game for the Kings

We'll see. The Senators continue to be on the outside looking in, and could very well be eliminated by tomorrow night. But they could also make it!

Too early to say, mainly for the latter... for the first point... you couldn't be more wrong. Its a crap shoot.

In 2003 jessiman 12th, Nilsson 15th, Bernier 16th.

Kesler 23rd, Richards 24th, Perry 28th.

This years draft has been compared to 2003 in terms of depth. Just saying, you can get great players in round 1 no matter where you select.

Seriously! What do you think the Pens will do if they miss the playoffs or get swept in the first round?

DO you want to know the point of which I know that I won, is when all you have left to do is turn around my FACTS about the crap you spew and turn them back on me. " I know you are but what am I"

Wow imagine that, you get other teams fans to agree with you when you blow in their ears. That's a tough thing to accomplish.

- nbartley9

You didn't win jack poop. Look at the comments on the board. You are the one being laughed at.

If you said you were done with me last night, why are you still responding to me now? Because I'm in your head? You can't help yourself.

Bro... I'm a Pens fan... and I agree with him. Winnik is not top 6... Bennett isn't either.. Downie COULD be (I've advocated him with Sid/Horny all year.) But Stone is easily better than Bennett, Downie, and Winnik. If you combine all 3 of their points, Stone is only like... 15 points behind. Stone is what we were hoping Bennett could become, but.. sadly, he cannot.

Just out of curiousity, do you really think professional athletes with their competitive nature and what not would really roll over just to spite other teams? I'm inclined to think not, but I could be wrong.

FWIW most of the games we discuss, including Dark Souls, are console releases as well. So, y;know, go buy a copy right now and get #rekt. :D

But f'real, a little off topicality lends a bit of humanity to these desolate internet wastes.

Nice selective data. In the 10 picks between 11-20 in 2003 had: Carter, Brown, Seabrook, Parise, Getzlaf, Burns.
Odds are better the earlier a team is picking.

me too but if ur the flyers and u can hurt the penguins while u have nothing to play for besides draft position.. im sure players dont think this way but they are aware no doubt.

Rags already have the first seed clinched. They really don't have to play hard and can rest players. Philly is still playing hard. If they wanted to fold the tents, they should have a few weeks ago.

Last game of the year with a play-off spot on the line, it doesn't matter where you are playing. Pittsburgh has done well against Buffalo over the years. However, we have sucked ass recently against non play-off type teams. Sounds like a gimmie, but ...

Next year-

Winnik- Crosby- Hornqvist
Kunitz- Malkin- Perron
Dupuis- Soderberg- Frolik
Spaling - Sundqvist- Comeau

Call ups- Rust/Wilson/ Kap

Letang - Mattaa
Pouliot- Lovejoy
Cole- Harrington
Doumalin- Scuderi

Fleury
Zatkoff

Youth, balance and competition... Having Sundqvist on a 2 way with Rust and Wilson nipping at his heels will make all three play balls out trying to earn/keep spots... Should also trickle to the other bottom 6 forwards, having affordable guys working their asses off to get the call if someone should decide to slack, or an injury. Give Kapenan a full year in the A, but he is also in the wings for a call up to the to 6 in case of injury/incompetence to a top 6. Winnik/Kunitz/ Dupuis are inter changeable based on who's playing well. Same story on D.. 8 guys, most young and hungry, fighting for spots, if you're not playing well you sit, no matter how much $$$ you make or who your name is. Zatkoff gets back up duties as he is signed, is cheapest, and give Jarry and Murray the ability to split the AHL season.

Sutter traded for a 2nd in this years draft to whoever will take him. Soderberg/ Frolik both signed with Erhoff/Martin/Sutter sayings... Comeau and winning slight raises come from that fund too. Cap space left to pick up a veteran if needed at the deadline.

You maybe misconstruing what I said about Bennett, Bennett is a top 6 player talent wise; not a bottom 6 he is useless there. But unfortunately he is also useless on our top 6 or anyone else's top 6 as well.

Winnik fills a role of a big body that can flourish with Sid, would I rather have someone else sure, but those names don't appear on Ottawa's roster unless their name is Ryan.

Yes of course, but in a deep draft, picking 15th or 25th the odds decrease.

I hear what you're saying with Bennett, and he's not the first to fit that description. He's not going to be effective in a different role, he's scoring role or bust.

I don't understand your hockey logic. Are you saying that Stone would not be as good a player playing with Crosby as he is with Turris? Remember, Stone is an outstanding defensive player, top take away player.
