15th or 25th will get same quality of player. Trade was a bust for Pens. Loads of people said it here, but pens fans had their blinders on.

Historical percentages prove that is not true at all. Even in deep drafts.

I cant help myself your right, but you just keep poking at me (with horrible insults like idiot); so yeah I will entertain the masses.

You are out of your mind if you would be happy with those guys as top 6 forwards on a contending team. Chiasson and Lazar are who you are going to hang your hat on, wow I cant even fathom what you see when you watch hockey. You just keep making crap up like you follow Ottawa and know the ability and ups and downs of every single player in the league. Listen buddy boy I have the interweb too.

You are bringing up the Sens roster on google (shout out Guile) and just picking and choosing what stats you want to throw out; go ahead and deny it everyone here knows that's all you bring to the table every single day I have yet to see you post an original idea that has any merit or entertainment value, you have watched the Sens what 4 times this year? You don't know these players stop pretending that you do. I have watched them as much as you have this year, go ahead and bash me for not wanting those 2 on my top 6. If you do it clearly shows who knows hockey and who doesn't.

I would like to have both of those players ,they play a good game. But I sure as hell don't want them on my top 6.

Im sure you will come back at me with classic comebacks like you love to do so much, with your very witty insults; just do me a favor and remember who it is exactly your talking to. I bring something to this thread, agree with it or not; I don't go around throwing out school yard insults and burn my fingertips trying to look through teams rosters pretending I know them through and through, like you obviously do. Bring something to the table I dare you.

I don't make crap up and I'm not using google. I happen to watch tons of hockey, unlike you. I happen to know the game more than you and recognize talent more than you. The difference is I think Hoffman and Stone, both guys have produced 20 goals seasons at young ages without the help of a superstar are top six forwards in Pittsburgh, but you think Beau Bennett and his poopty play and broken wrists is a top six player. He has less goals than Lazar has this year and he is playing on a line similar to what Beau has been playing most of the year.

You are a weak individual. You think you are funny, but you aren't. You have yet to show any evidence that you know the game. Anyone who thinks Bennett is a top six, such as you, can't be taken seriously. Add in the fact that you still think Cooke and Downie are Gods ... more concrete evidence that you are a joke.

Saying that Hoffman and Stone aren't top six forwards in Pittsburgh when we have a third line guy in Winnik playing top line minutes; a broken down Kunitz playing top six minutes; Comeau playing top six minutes is something that demand seeking greater help from someone with a hockey IQ.

Dude, learn the game.

the pens and flyers have just both have that kind of year that makes you just curse the sky.

the pens, well thats been discussed to great lengths. its just inexplicably frustrating.

but the flyers, man. if you said okay team x is going to have 2 forwards in the art ross hunt, a 50 point defender, and a goalie in the top 3ish in save percentage. yeah.. theyre a lottery team. um what?

this state just aint having hockey this year.

- stayinthefnnet

Exactly. Its been a rough year in Philly but I expected it and have accepted it. Id be lying if i didnt say i held out some hope that this years flyers team could shock the world but it was obvious early that they just arent very good. Its the curse of the salary cap and all pro sports really, its cyclical. Take your lumps stock up young talent become a power house young talent starts aging you decline and repeat the whole process over again. Its been the playbook for the Hawks, Penguins, Lightning to a lesser extent but now the Penguins are on the downslope of that prosperity. Doesnt mean they wont compete, dominate or even win a cup in the next 3-5 years but that downswing is slowly happening.

Even taking that aside, this draft is supposed to be very deep even with the high end talent and a middle-first rounder would be really lucrative.
- jfkst1

I think JR (as well as most pens fans) assumed it'd be a late pick (25-30). Now it's looking like it could be around 15-20, which could get the pens a really good forward prospect. I think perron is solid still and playing him with sutter isn't going to get him out of his funk, it's going to continue to make him look worse

Barts is trying to say that Bennets style of hockey is condusive to that of a top 6 player, not that he is actually a top 6 player, I agree, if he were stronger, to go along with his top 6 talent then he could be a top 6 player in real life, but for now as barts pointed out, hes not a 3rd or 4th line winger type, not strong or physical enough, not good enough defensively, so yea, I get what your both saying, and maybe one day he can become a legit top 6 player but until then its a pipe dream

With all young players, Canadian fans want to know their history with Team Canada. Stone had a wonderful tournament. Is he a future 40 goal scorer as some analysts are predicting? We really don't know. But, he is so much more than your ill informed bleating suggests.
- spatso

Stone is a good player, I am not saying that he isn't a good player. Im just saying that if he played here he would not be my choice for top 6, last night I may have referred to him as a turd; that was my anger after the game. He is a good player just not who I want flanking my top 2 lines.

The issue I take is with Obama Penguins or whatever his name is pretending he has been watching these 2 guys play since they have been in pee wee, its annoying and clearly a farce.

In all seriousness, if Stone was a Penguin today you would have him on the third line behind Kunitz, Winnik, Bennett, Perron?

Theres no real satisfaction in pointing it out....unless we coulda beat you guys enough times to make the playoffs it doesnt really matter. Sure theres that little piece of me that enjoys the poop out of it but really the second i say that, its an easy set up to hear 8000 rebuttals of yeah well PLAYOFFS!! which i do beleive you guys make.

say stone just popped up on our roster. who would make the top 6 over him? horny definitely. perrons been a (frank)up lately, but still him.

then who? i personally would slot him in over kunitz, but i could see the argument going for kuni. but after that, i think it runs dry.

Your not the brightest guy are you, im actually slightly feeling bad now for pointing what it is you obviously do.

Before last night you could not have named any player on the Sens first line besides Turris, deny it all you want. Your act doesn't fool anyone, anyone with one finger and an eye ball can do what you do when it comes to "proving" your points as far as caliber of players. You don't know these guys any better than I or anyone else here does. It is clear however that these guys are not who I would want leading me to the Stanley Cup.

The fact that you said maybe Horny is a better top 6 forward proves my point exactly, anyone can read off a roster and say exactly what you say, you have yet to mention an intangible that these 2 budding superstars have that is sooo desired by you. Still waiting on that one; hurry up open your search engine!!!

Also Bennett is a top 6 talent, but the problem is he isn't any good. HE IS WORTHLESS ANYWHERE ELSE ON ANY ROSTER. Google that see what comes up.

- nbartley9

Your funny ... I can tell you Ottawa's lineup pretty well, since Ottawa is almost like a second home to me since my family has a cottage near Ottawa. I follow Ottawa as the second team of mine. So ... carry on.

No, you said Bennet was a top six forward. He isn't. I don't need google. Unfortunately, you my friend do. I'm not sure you know jack poop about anything outside of Pittsburgh and even that is debatable.

I mentioned Horny because he was the only other capable top six guy we have. We only have three competent top six forwards. He brings some attributes to the table that neither Stone nor Hoffman do, so he certainly is in thew discussion. Perron isn't. Comeau? LOL. Winnik? LOL. Who is our other top six guy? I haven't heard his name called for a goal it seems since O'Bama took office (sarcasm in case you can't get it).

So, Bennett is a top six forward on Pittsburgh, but is worthless anywhere else. That is genius. Too funny.

game....set.....match........to anyone who's been arguing with you.

Hornquvist is the ONLY guy on that list who would be even remotely considered a top six winger ...................and even he doesn't have as many points this year as stone, despite the fact that his center is sidney (frank)ing crosby, while stone plays with turris.

Sad thing he does. He would have Winnik and Downie in there over Hoffman and Stone. This is why he can't be taken serious because either he is doing a good troll job, or is the biggest fool known to man kind.
