The top 2 lines for wbs have been scoring their asses off. Ebbett tk Wilson
Uher megna rust
Now kap is in for uher and boom 1st shot 1st shift 1st goal haha - nh4442
I am still very hopeful that Tom Kuhnhackl can develop into a Hornqvist type NHL player. UNderrated pick in my opinion; at age 23 it's time to see what he's got next season.
I know, I know. It's not a sexy name and it's not an electrifying player. But neither was Holmstrom. I don't think 87 and 71 have needed anything more than they have needed a guy to help them take the goalie's eyes and play reading away. |

I think all 4 of Wilson, Kapanen, Rust, and Megna are better options than Adams. All but Wilson bring great speed and at least a fighting chance of scoring a goal... |

He's fallen so far off the radar. Does he even play (or shown he can play) an above average net-front game? |

Was listening to DK doing Madden's show tonight. He said he knows for a fact that management would have called up players to take spots from the current line up. If we do make the playoffs, we'll never see Adams again. I doubt BB keeps his spot too. |

I don't think this point get's enough recognition. 50% roster turnover. I can't cite any specific statistics, but I've noticed over the years that professional sports teams (any sport) that go down this road usually don't fare all that well. Throw in a new coach and system and non-stop injury bug to add a little gasoline to the tire fire.
I know this sounds like excuse making and maybe it is, but the only center/wing combo on the team with any history is Sid and Kuni or Malkin and Kuni. - madmike71
This is what I've been saying for weeks. I knew it going into this season as well, and it only showed more when we brought even more players in through the season. More than half the roster is new, new staff, new systems. It'll take some time.
Sutter still sucks (but he's looked decent lately) |

Interesting. But do they have the balls to swap em out come playoff time?
Bylsma wouldn't do it....so that means we should do it. Kapanen has an elite skill set. He should play over Adams. Just like I said from day 1 about Pouliot, he has an elite skill set and should play over Scuderi. |

I imagine they'll try anything at this point. HCMJ has to know his job is hanging by a thread. Hate to say it, but possibly GMJR too....even though he's done many good things.
If they can bring up some youth, speed and energy you do it. |

I truly believe ebbett Wilson megna dumo and maybe even harrington will be called up. And if guys are not doing what they should be doing they young guys will play. But next yr pens need atleast 2 to 3 guys in 2 way deals so what happened this year never happens again. |

Yeah that's what I've been doing too. At least there will be videos of the goal etc after. Hopefully there's a shift by shift for Kap. |

This cluster(frank) could still back into the playoffs. Then...godwilling call up some reinforcements.
Amazing.
If Pens play those 5 dmen the Islanders will score 10.
Buffalo...we might be able to pull that off.
I shudder to think what my furniture will look like if I have to watch this team cower to teams in the playoffs like they did last night.
Oh well, (frank) it, ikea is the poop!! |

Kapanen has 2 points in his first period. Love it! Murray looking for shutout number 12. Doumolin and Harrington have been excellent this year. The big club needs an injection of some of this talent. |

If Kap keeps this up throughout the year/playoffs, if we advance passed round one I could see the Pens giving him a shot. At least a few games, obviously if he doesn't impress he would be sent back down. But he'd have to have 9 games to burn an ELC year.
But I agree, either this playoffs or next season this team needs that youth. |

Do playoff games even count towards the nine games? I'm not sure. Is it too late to see Murray as our John Gibson though? Can he get a legit shot to backup MAF next year? And will Jarry get a start now that he's in WBS? And is Jarry staying or going back to Edmonton next year? Wow look at all these positive scenario questions that have nothing to do with trading Crosby, Malkin and Letang. Boston is getting their a$$ kicked right now and they are in real danger of falling out, more than the Pens at this point, and they won the presidents trophy last year, how come there's no doom and gloom from their fanbase? |

I call up Kap game 1 of the playoffs if he increases our chances to win...If he plays well, you keep playing him and burn the year of ELC. its worth burning a year if he's contributing...and 9 games is a long enough sample size to determine that. |

Everywhere I look its the rest of the world on the edge of their seat waiting to laugh at the Pens not making the playoffs.
Friday we play a team that has played just about as poorly as us with a full healthy roster and no one is saying peep about the Islanders.
Crosby vs Tavares on Friday for all the marbles.

Boston fans came to the realization much earlier in the season that they weren't as good as expected.

Sorry but it's delusional to think kapanen is the difference between us flaming out and winning the cup.... there is zero logical reasoning in burning a year of his elc to maybe see round 2.... try and hold out until letang gets back and go from there but without letang and hoff were not going very far in the postseason |

No chance do you see the Pens burn a year of Kap for what could turn out to be one round of playoffs....just doesn't make sense at all. I do believe he will be given every chance to make the team next year.
If the Pens sneak into the playoffs, I think you will see some of the WB guys brought up. Starting with about 3 forwards and probably Doums. Sucks for WB, but Pens are the priority. |
