Meh, his time as the "best" in the NHL is over. He hasn't shown it this year. I don't care if he leads the league in scoring. He has 81 points, 20 less points than last year and is only 1 point ahead of Ovechkin, Tavares, and Benn. Of those, I'd argue at least 1 of them is a better all around player.

There is no reason that the "best" player in the NHL isn't winning the Art Ross by a landslide.

yes....although in this scenario i'd say Reinhart is more analogous to Malkin than Crosby with him being the #2 guy (behind McDavid obviously)

Seems to be more that Pittsburgh just hit a slump this season. They're off by about 35 goals from last season with only a few games to play. Hell, Malkin had 72 points in 60 games last season.

Call it a blip.
