OEL is for sure a top 10 D in the league but IMO he's not in the discussion of winnng ahead of guys like

I think the Norris got ruined this season with Gio getting injured. This was the year of the Gio.

Seguin - Spezza - McDavid is gonna be a great center core for the Stars.

Dude, a minus 19 is a real hard sell for best overall defenseman. They just couldn't do it. At least be at zero, that's my take. Yes, you could argue that's his team more than him, but it still looks bad. In terms of 'offensive' defensemen he's right there with Karlsson, IMO.

Coming from a big fan of OEL's game- I think it's a little early to say he should win the Norris, especially in a year where his team is 2nd from the bottom.

I get your points, and his goal scoring is certainly impressive- but he isn't on the same level, offensively, as Karlsson.

Truthfully, I don't think anybody is- at the fear of sounding outrageously homer-ish.

He's not going to get Norris votes. Weber, Kalrlsson and Subban will get the majority of the votes. Subban and Karlsson shouldn't because both of their games lack in the defensive zone sometimes. Weber should win it.

I had to leave karlsson out for now. I love his offensive game, but his defensive game still needs some improvement. It's gotten exponentially better over the past few seasons, and maybe if he dedicates a bit more to his game without the puck, he's a bona fide top 10 by next season. I think you originally rated oel a little to high, top 10 for sure, top 5? Not yet. He's still young, and he's still gonna get MUCH better. I left Duncan Keith off because I think he's extremely overrated. IMO he's Top 15-20 and I think that's even generous. I put vlasic at #10 because I love his game, he doesn't get any recognition either.

I figured it's overpayment but was curious as to what he would find fair. Imo OEL and Eichel alone would be good for McDavid but I may be under or over valuing him I'm not certain.
