I don't know. My understanding is that all of the teams have to be in Canada from now on. They really didn't do a good job with the Conferences, the division names, and I still don't think 'wild card' should be a hockey term. - Johnny Wrath
I don't think Canada will be getting another team any time soon considering the way the Canadian dollar keeps sliding. Peg was a mistake for a team, the Canadian market is maxed out. You're not gaining any new customers. No reason to invest into a new team there.
They should contract 2 team and move 2 others. FLA, NJD, PHX, EDM, PEG, TBL are all options. I know I know, you can't move a Canadian team....But when just about every player with a NMC has those 2 teams listed as no go's maybe it wasn't such a good idea. |

Lap is completely worthless in the playoffs, had Blues fans clamoring for getting Porter & Cracknell, AHL guys, onto the line instead. - Antilles
You may be right and I fear you are. But, I guess we'll see.
I feel the same about Goc.
I have to say.... I've noticed Lap more than I ever did Goc. At least you know he's in the game at times. Goc was like a f'ing ghost.
So the Blues fans think you guys will win a round this year? I think this may be the year you guys break through. |

Bennett is definitely a passenger on roller skates. Bad draft choice again. He will have a nice career playing in Europe. He will fit in nicely there |

Bennett, Sutter, Erhoff. 3 of the softest players you will ever see. And we have all 3 of them on our team.

I'll bet Hoff goes on IR. How long does it take to put him on LTIR? Getting cap relief from LTIR is about the only way to add to this roster. Hell, they've played a game or two shorthanded because they can't afford to carry any extra players.

So Hoff goes on LTIR and we call over Kapanen, Sundqvist, and sign Moses, Panarin, and Tikhonov? |

ha...I joke about these things but somewhere deep down I feel that some of them would be better options than Adams, Lapierre, Bennett, Sutter, Ebbett (edit: and definitely better than many of our forward prospects"
didnt take long for TIOPS to read a random article and link it to the Pens (I can't read the full article)

I've thought that we would break through many times. Now I just assume an early exit and start planning what I want to do with my saved playoff ticket money. Hopefully the Blues or Nashville win in the first round, b/c I want to root for someone in 2nd round action somewhere close, and I'd consider adult circumcision over going to Chicago. |

I do agree. I wish there was more time left though to see what they could really do (if they were in fact signed). Yeah I can't read it either, guessing it's Panarin?
Edit: Also I just have a feeling Blueger will be a pretty decent player for us in the future. |

I get pissed when we dont have take chances at "free" assets, like Hayes, Bailey, Komorov, any of those KHL guys. I know there's lots of moving parts, including cap space, mutual interest, etc. Just wish we could take chances on infusing really forward talent in creative ways.
We'll see about Blueger. Nothing against him but the Pens need scorers/snipers. I can hardly get excited about pass first guys anymore. |

From what I've read, Kap isn't NHL ready. They shouldn't bring him here a burn a year of control if he can't help.

I know how you feel. I wish we could have gotten someone of their pedigree, but like you said too many moving pieces and we'll never really know what goes on.
Blueger would be helpful for the third line, Sutter won't be around then (hopefully) and you know he possess no offensive ability at all. Blueger can at least create. |

Missing out on Hayes really annoyed me too. He's had some nice games with the Rags. He's a big power forward and somehow we don't make him a priority when we have a baron forward prospect pool. |

Mike Lange spoke about the fight as well only he said the Blues were driving play in the first period without any fight. Then on top being down 0-2 the good sides usually push back??
From what I heard the Pens sat back & fight or no fight they let the Blues back into the game with very ordinary play? Being a 'reactionary' team usually gets you zero, so we can be thankful that we got 1 point at least.
We must be the ONLY team to let Marcel Goc score - fan (frank)ing tastic!
Biggest winner yesterday? The Caps. Interesting times ahead! |

Now sitting here thinking what a coup it would be if Panarin just magically appeared on the roster for a playoff push. I don't even think its legal, but damn.
Then again, chemistry plays so much into it. As much as I want forward depth, hasn't the ship sailed on that front at this point? How much can a guy who's never even played in the NHL (I'm thinking about Sundqvist and Kapanen here) contribute to a playoff push? Even if they had the ability, they wouldn't have had the time to learn their linemates' games. |

Since most of you have the mentality of a 37 yr old soccer mom who thinks sports are for FUN!! and FAMILY!! and you probably drag your annoying snot nosed brats to the games and ruin it for everyone else here's how the Adams fight went. Ott wanted a fight, if he didn't get one he was going to run around and try to draw one. Craig Adams being a veteran hockey player who has balls(something I think most of you know nothing about) thought he would just give him the fight, he ended up doing well. Amazingly everyone in the entire arena cheered. Whether or not it had any impact on the game is irrelevant, it was that or have guys like Ott and Reaves looking to kill someone. Adams did his team a service by just taking the fight. If it impacts play or not fighting is good for hockey, people are violent by nature and they love seeing pointless violence.
Downie is the simply answer to Kunitz. Downie deserves his shot more than any other bottom six player on the team. He does more for the team than any other non core player and keeps getting shafted. Its BS. |

I'd rather see Winnik babysitting Sutter so that he can't blackhole the entire line like he did last night.

It's amazing how anybody paired with Sutter just falls off the face of the earth. Both him and Lappy basically sabotage the 3rd and 4th lines.
When Malkin and Horney return, they should cobble together a 3rd line with Spaling, Winnik and Downie and put the suck brothers all on one line. That way you only have one line getting creamed every game rather than two. Play 'em 7 mins and pray. |
