Edmonton's or Philly's?

Still Flyers, because of what's on the farm, and Giroux/Voracek are in their prime

Even if the Flyers miss the playoffs next season, too, they're still going to be better than the Oil for a bit

That would make it trickier...man. See, the Flyers even in this hellish season of mediocrity are still better down the middle and on the right side than the Oil.

The Oil's probably better on the left side, with Hall and Pouliot

Even with as horrific as the defense can be, Streit and Del Zotto are probably the two best defenders for either team

If they swapped goalies, though...man. It would definitely be a hell of a lot closer than any of us would like

See, I'm still of the belief -- because I always think that you can improve if you want it bad enough -- that they could get better next season in a hurry, if they wanted to do so

Now, hear me out. I'm not saying that they SHOULD do this. I'm saying that if they wanted to, they probably could do something like this

But just say that Hextall wanted to get better NEXT season.

You could probably do something like the TB pick and the Schenns for JVR and a third, something like that

They don't HAVE to be bad next season, you know? They have pieces in place that are interesting enough that they could do some things

For instance, you could move Scott Laughton -- again, not saying they should. But you COULD move him, for immediate help, at the very least in a package

Absolutely -- they don't have quite the depth of prospects, but if they wanted to get crazy, they could get three assets back for Taylor Hall that would help them immediately, while off-setting the loss of Hall

Or if they don't finish in the Top Two this year, they could move that pick for a piece or two that could help them immediately, while moving down

It's all in how big your set of brass ones are -- both the Flyers and Oilers don't have to be mediocre or worse next year, I feel
