I'm sorry, but comments like this make you look ignorant. Add to the conversation, don't attack a fan based on their team preference, especially when it has nothing to do with the original comment.

Some people can't wrap their head around a Flyers fan actually liking the Flyers and Penguins are trying to evaluate them in an unbiased way...never taking into account that I was a Penguins fan before a Flyers fan, my love of the Steelers, and my wife whom I Love being a Penguins fan. It's just impossible, for some reason.

Typically on weekends when the wife hands me a "to-do" list I plan around hockey. This weekend I did not and missed both games.

Man am I glad I did.

Be like someone who likes the Islanders/Rangers, Oilers/Flames, Red Wings/Blackhawks. Its hard to think of it being possible, but it happens. Its not a bad thing to like different teams, and geographically, it makes sense to like those close to you, and that geographical closeness just means its more than likely a rival.

Bennett is not the answer. He should stay right where he is. He will become another first round pick who NEVER pans out. Turn him in to a permanent bottom six guy. Case closed. In the long run you will save money by not having to pay him big money cause he certainly doesn't deserve it

Also I think MAF looked at his calender and saw that next month is April. He is rounding into playoff form. Four goals against in his last 2 starts. That is NOT a good sign for the near future. Yeah he has had a great season but we have seen that before. The time for him to get out of the fog is coming up. What if he craps the bed again..............then what. Just saying. He has got a lot of proving to do

He's actually been the least of worries the last 2 playoff years. And I didn't see the Edmonton game, but his team gave him little chance yesterday. But it doesn't matter now, the Penguins committed to his when they resigned him.

I also want to hunt down the one who got pissy when I told him to shut his whore mouth for possibly jinxing us (at that time). Especially since he now has done so

Watch the entire thing. The linesman comes in from behind as Downie is already focused on engaging. Please stop already. Paste 3 seconds of an incident. He was on the way to the bench when it happened.

That was 100% the right call to make on Downie... can't be pushing officials like that, dunno what the hell everyone is talking about. Downie made a huge mistake, as did the rest of the Penguins the entire game. Undisciplined and acting like children will get you nowhere in an NHL game. Kunitz, Letang, Downie... can't be doing that. They just need to shut their mouths and play hockey, enough said.

You guys have probably the most top end skill in the east, but it'll be interesting to see if some of the more volatile pens hurt your team in the playoffs. Downie is still the one guy I can see costing the pens a game or two with how intense playoff hockey is. He's unstable and that's being kind.

Im sorry, but the officiating yesterday was absolutely awful. I agree the Pens lose their composure alot but it sure seemed like the refs wanted to hand out 10 minute misconducts for just about everything yesterday. To me it was more on the refs doing an awful job than the Pens losing their cool.

Everything the refs handed out misconducts for was the right call, Downie pushing the ref, Kunitz shooting the puck at the ref, Letang mouthing off (and probably crossing the line) at a ref. You can't do these things, they deserved the misconducts 100%.

That's what he should be doing.

By the way, I just saw video what Letang did, and...well, yeah, I would have done the same thing the ref did. Maybe not a game, but definitely a 10 for being a douchebag.

Honestly, at that point of the game, the refs deserved to be jeered. Once they gave Kunitz his 10, they deserved 0 respect.

LOL Kunitz didnt shoot the puck at the ref. Even Eddie O said it was a weak call. Give me a break.

I was a huge fan of bringing Downie here, as I watched him here in Tampa play with Marty and Stammer... he put up good numbers, even in the playoffs he had 14 points in 17 games, buuuuut he had 40 PIMS, can't recall if they were minors, off setting pims, or fighting majors.. but I don't recall of the top of my head the Lightning being shorthanded because of Downie all that much that year. He has definitely been a little more of a loose cannon, but its definitely not the 1st time he's exclipsed 200 PIMs. If they could figure out a damn way to get him to settle down, I thought Tocchet was supposed to be a good influence on that... welp.. there goes that hahaha

It was both... But the Pens have to know better. Every hockey fan knows it's a garage league and that by this point in the season, refs don't call much of anything... it only gets worse in the playoffs. The players know this too, and need to learn how to deal with it.

By running your mouth or taking your frustrations out on other players, does nothing but hurt your team.

Downie didn't get 10 for "skating into a scrum." He got it for running a linesman into the ice. He's lucky he only got 10 for that. Also, Kunitz didn't get his for "shooting the puck down ice after a period." He got it for shooting it towards an official after stepping out of the box after the period was over.

Edit: And CLEARLY, Downie only gets calls based on his reputation and jersey. Like he'd ever throw a cheap shot, come on, that's ridiculous. He's a Lady Byng-type player.

- jmatchett383

Downie deserved his. I dont think he really meant to shove the linesman the way he did. He kind offell and brought the guy down with him, but he also didnt stop when the linesman was telling him to. Not that all players do (they typically dont), but they also dont pull a linseman down.

But saying Kunitz shot the puck at the ref is like saying a dump in is shooting it at them. That one im not buying.

Yeah, but after all the bs that the refs had to deal with prior to that, there's a point to be made, to respect the stripes, yeah maybe it was soft, but I'm sure there was stuff being said by the Pens that made them deserve it. It's one game, everyone's acting like the apocalypse is coming, just move on and forget it, but I do think the Pens deserved most of the calls they got yesterday. They looked bad, and acted stupid, so be it, fix it and move on
