Am I alone in thinking that Frankie Corrado is overrated by the Canucks' coaching staff? He entered the lineup in place of Clendening who, in my opinion, is a much better player. Even Biega would be a better option than Corrado.
I think the Canucks should try to trade Corrado. The Canucks have some great defense prospects in the system, primarily with the dynamic play of Jordan Subban. He is going to be in the top pairing, and will likely be as competent a player as his brother Malcolm, or potentially better. Beyond Subban, the Canucks have Evan McEneny, Henrik Tommernes, and Ben Hutton. These 4 defensive prospects are the future of the Canucks organization along with top forward prospects Horvat, Cassels, McCann, Virtanen, Shinkaruk, and Gaunce.
Anyone care to weigh in? Carol, your thoughts please!? - monsmaark
I'd love to share your enthusiasm but I think you are overvaluing a guy like Subban. As much as I would love to see all three brothers playing in the NHL it is a bit 50/50 as concerns Jordan. Of course I'm hoping he makes it, it would be a great story and of course hopefully help the Canucks out with their defensive depth (don't think he's ever going to be a top pair guy, though - to me, if he can make the transition to the NHL that will be an unexpected surprise, let alone if he can actually play in the top 4 (again, I just don't see it but am rooting for him nonetheless) |

What if your work is a hobbie? - A_SteamingLombardi
I work my ass off for the money I make. It love my work but it is hard as f@ck. I guess I would destroy my body a different way or a lot less. They don't call it work because its a hobby. If you get paid to do a hobby then you are luckier than most. |

I don't think Corrado has much value. I also don't think they have much for defensive prospects at all. |

You need Willie Mitchell's and Matt Greene's in your lineup as well as Drew Doughty's. Corrado could be a good bottom pairing guy. Also, we don't have as many defensive prospects as you think. Bunch of C+ guys. |

Corrado is 20 years old and already able to hold down a 6/7 spot on an NHL team. Biega is like 26 and Clendenning is 23-4. Corrado's trajectory has been pretty impressive.
The reason they are high on him is that he has been able to play at such a young age as a 5th round pick; the optics are extremely flattering of him. |

I don't think Corrado is in because he is better than Clendening. I think they are going to rotate the 6/7 defensemen in and out of the lineup to keep them fresh.
Maybe if one of them outright plays better than another it might be a different story. But none of these guys are showing much better than the other.

Corrado's 2 weeks shy of his 22nd birthday, but he's still relatively young. |

Everyone is too high on him.
The Canucks have zero prospects that project as top-4 right now.
We might have someone who surprises us (like pedan), but the organization should plan their draft accordingly. |

Miles Liberati? Even McEneny? Both in there 20 year old seasons and are 10th and 20th in scoring for defence in the OHL.
Corrado had 45 points in his OA year. |

I think there are opportunities that should be explored in regards to our defence. That being said, all things equal, Tanev should be signed. |
