I don't get why people on the West Coast cheer for the Jays? They're 3400 Km's away from Vancouver...yes I understand they're in a Canadian province, but who cares, half the league is closer to Vancouver and plays in our time zone. |

For his cap hit, he's a great value. Valuable trade chip too if they want to flip him. McCann's having a great draft+1 season and the Canucks have good odds to make the playoffs. Considering that Kesler demanded the trade and basically narrowed it down to ANA, I'm pretty happy with that deal. |

Up next...something more exciting than baseball
I can't watch any sport where the commentary guys are basically whispering half the time and passing time with random stories. Golf and baseball
I enjoy playing baseball though |

I was born in Toronto in 78. Many people in Vancouver are originally from out east.
In 92 the Mariners were crap and Jays were about to win back to back World Series. I was 14-15 at the time and will always be a die hard jays fan.
Vancouver tries so hard to push the Mariners on us. way more jays fans here than Mariners fans. Annual trip to see jays Mariners at safeco is a must for any sports fan. 50/50 split , if not 60/40 jays. Great atmosphere. |

Youth is wasted on the young - LeftCoaster
I agree, youth is much better spent watching a bunch of guys stand around for two hours, swing at nothing for 45 mins, and run in circles the other 15 |

Baseball is great. Nothing like laying down on the couch to watch a game, falling asleep an inning or two in and waking up for the 9th or at the end of the game. |

I should have qualified that statement by saying people, such as myself, who were born and raised on the West Coast.
I don't cheer against the Jays, I'm just not a die-hard fan...Oakland on the other hand, is my team. Same time zone, West Coast team, were good when I was growing up. |

You whine more than anyone. Don't (frank)ing read our posts if it upsets you.
Looks like I'm making the playoffs in our hockey pool. I love our fantasy pool, so much fun talking about it on these free message boards.
Jays baseball is the best.
Anyone see Dustin Johnson win on Sunday?
Who watched the Davis Cup on the weekend? Great win!
Whitecaps had a tough loss, hopefully they have a good season.

you're missing the nuances of the game, same as golf, if you understand the game and what those guys are trying to do when they hit the golf ball (and how friggin hard it is to execute) you appreciate the very few guys in the world who can do it on a consistent basis. |

I can't wait to make the trip to Safeco in May. The wife and I are driving from Seattle to San Francisco. Timing couldn't have been better. In fact, it will be the first west coast park I've ever visited. Might see the Giants as well - their park is incredible.
