I don't understand baseball at all. The game seems to be this see-saw that it's better when everyone is doping but that they shouldn't be doping. Because the Babe was a big fat guy an his records seem less important if Sosa can repair muscle tissue faster than the Babe could finish a bottle of Wild Turkey on the train from Cincinnati to Philadelphia.

Hockey is and I think will be a niche sport, strongly regional, and won't ever have a 'casual fan' format. NFL and now EPL soccer can have that casual, weekend audience without the tedium of following the league, looking at a weeknight schedule, or knowing the rules. You can just put the football on and vaguely know which color neoprene pants the home team wears and go with it.

I think the biggest issue with hockey growing is that it isn't a very good TV sport. Football especially translates well to TV. Another major impediment to growing the sport is that inconsistency in penalties. I'd also say that slightly increasing scoring would help the cause.

i dont agree that it would become as hyperbolized as youre suggesting it has to become.

i do agree that at least initially, there will be a high number. i do think teams can adjust.

but realistically, i understand that each team may get 3 or 4 pps a game, even after adjustments are made.

Could be that we are one of the few countries that charge and OBSCENE amount to go to college. You know over half of Europe is free or even pay a stipend for people to go to college.

Also the loan rates are a joke at how high they are and students are forced to take em.

Pretty sure I did not suggest getting rid of shin pads. I suggested getting rid of shin pads that are too rigid. Body armor shin pads encourage shot blocking and packing the net mouth. This leads to a league with not one player getting 90 points.
