I too didn't like the way the Canucks responded with respect to the Keith hit. That said, you can't compare that with the Howe era, where players were a lot slower, had equipment which was not 'armour' tough (unlike what we see now with respect to elbow pads/shoulder pads etc). Concussions are a lot more prominent than they've ever been. Players like Keith know the repercussions of what they are doing. Again, it was a sh*tty and dangerous play that has no business being termed as simply a tough hit and a regular hockey play

Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree (what else is new ). I just don't think you can compare that era with today's. And I wasn't talking about fighting. Fighting (in every era) always had/has the possibility of an injury or concussion, but it's not a regular hockey play. Moreover, there is no subjectivity as concerns a fight. It is what it is and both combatants are ready and willing (usually) to participate - unlike a helpless/vulnerable and unaware player getting his head knocked off.

Good god sbisa can't even figure what color jersey he is meant to hit......but at least he is hitting.

This isn't the 50's. You'd be a bigger public enemy than Matt Cooke and no coach would trust you knowing you can take a 5 min penalty any given night. Players that are easy to agitate are just as bad as cream puffs.
