No I will just listen to your pansy ass stuff now. I m good.

Pay the cream puff 4 .5 , let the goal scorer walk.

You can't fix stupid , you are living proof.

I've never heard anyone else ever refer to Matthias as a goal scorer. I guess Higgins is a goal scorer too, and Hansen.

Kesler took a puck off the head during warm ups
- canucktruck

That puck sounds tougher than Tanev.

Yeah that what I said because a big hit is just like a plane crash

Keith didnt have a hit on danial. It was a blatant flying elbow trying to end his career. There's no place for that

Why is it one or the other?
- Nucker101

I bet Tanev throws down with Kesler, line brawl and kesler goes after the softest player on ice. Other players on the ice being vey, sedins, vrbata.

People who rely solely on stats or just the eye-test will never fully grasp player values.

Some guys are just more valuable than their stats suggest.

And some players look great(or bad) because their having a statistically lucky(or unlucky) season and/or getting easier/hard minutes. Your eyes can deceive you as well.

I said Tanev was a really decent player if you remember, followed by he is not worth 4 mil . That is not one or the other

You know for a fact he was trying to end his career for a fact? Or was he trying to neutralize him for a few games?

I don't know of any player that has blatantly gone out and try to end some ones career or kill them. Sounds a bit extreme to me?

Do you have a source to back that accusation?

I remember. But then you say things like "fine sign the cream puff" which sets people off since he's a really solid player and pretty young. What do you think Tanev would get as a UFA?

I know you value goals and hits above all else which is why you undervalue him and are high on Matthias currently as he's having a lucky/career year. Once he's making 3.5 million and has a career normal season finishing with just 15 goals I don't think you'll feel as good about him. Hell people have wanted Higgins gone since last year and he had 17 goals last year while making 2.5 million. Hansen had 11 and some people would have traded him away for basically anything, and he only makes 2.5 as well.

And what I meant but why not both was why can't the team sign both Tanev and Matthias?

interesting use of the word 'neutralize' in context of a player possibly ending another player's career. I get that it's a tough game, but blatant flying elbows to the snout of a player that is helpless/unaware is a pretty sh*tty and gutless play.

The other things is that you say Tanev shouldn't get 4M since he's the best d-man pit of a mediocre group yet that's exactly why you want to regain Matthias as our "2nd best goal scorer". Isn't he just a mole on a face full of warts too?

That's what I don't get. People wanting to trade those players for virtuallly nothing, yet these are decent players and especiallly considering their reasonable contract figures. It really is a head scratcher. As you pointed out, you have to take the statistics along with the intangibles that a player brings to fully get a sense of his value. If you are just using stats, it can be quite deceiving and not present the full picture, but yet for some reason continues to be debated
