Don't know who he is, but I'll say I hate his guts just to get another argument going here. |

How do you rank the following stats when you evaluate a d-man?
1. Level of competition/matchups they get
2. Points
3. Hits
4. Blocks
5. Fights
6. Grabbing a guy after a whistle
7. Goals against rate/ratio
8. Scoring chance differential when on the ice
I'm curious. Others are free to answer as well. Rank them all though.
No Corsi here. - Nucker101

I don't really like your categories and while I know you have boner these days for SC +/- I still think corsi plays a role in evaluating players, more so dmen.

You didn't like his category of grabbing a guy after a whistle? I am surprised Nucker didn't have howm many times a guy farts in the locker room as one of the categories.
I think he has confused defending your teammates and turned it into a mockery |

I mainly look at zone starts, level of competition, points per 60 mins and yes I do now prefer to look at scoring chance ratios instead of corsi. And I do also look at hits, but only road hits since some stat guys in certain buildings credit a hit for basically any
contact made with an opposing player.
I like Tanev and thin he's well worth the 4M or 4.5M he'll get but I'm definitely not happy with him being the Canucks best d-man. Doesn't mean we should let him go because of it though. |

Love quirky stuff. Made my kid watch Edward Scissorhands and he enjoyed it.
The quirkier the better.
like, (off the top of my head)
Moonrise Kingdom
Eagle vs Shark
Big Lebowski
Run Ronnie Run
Strangers With Candy - hillbillydeluxe
I remember you, my partner in crime!
Great stuff, indeed - can't believe anyone else has heard of Ronnie or Strangers With Candy (speaking of genius)
Edit: wait, does 'partner in crime' sound too gay? (not that there is anything wrong with that, but jus' sayin, is all) |

What about level of teammate? Has to be worth extra points to be passing the puck to Matthias, Higgins, Hansen all of the time. |
