Hands up
- Gullzy

yup, thought so... would love to see that

Wow, what a surreal game between the Flames and Ottawa (including the crazy shoot-out). At least Calgary only came away with one point - but a point they really had no business in acquiring.

Maybe facing off against Calgary in the first round wouldn't be such a good thing. They never quit. I can't believe they were down 4-0 and came back to take it to the shoot out.

Might as well put a shooter tutor in there instead of Anderson. Hammond all the way.

Yeah, he's good

You can have him for Tarasenko

- Nucker101

ha ha, he's not THAT good, you cheeky bastid!

P.s. I tried to snag him from you but I think the additional Stamkos piece shredded the deal, no? (I knew I should of thrown in Scrivens )

Was at the game today.

Few points worth mentioning

Ericsson's rebound control is down right awful
Biega while not flashy was easily the best/most consiatant player on the ice for either team
Pedan although solid I was expecting him to be a bit more physical
Huskins will without a doubt coach at some level
Sven has pretty slick hands, he's quick. While both teams only had one forechecker so the nuetrel zone wasn't allowing any people to get space so there was no insane dashes. On the pp he had the puck dancing. Easily the most talented guy on the Comets
Shink actually really impressed me. While his confidence is a bit shaky currently, his hustle and defensive game was great.
Gaunce is a note physical version of Higgins. Great hockey sense but shlt hands
Grenier drove the NWT a few times but looks like a bean pole out there
Archibald is garbage. Lazy piece of crap.
Finally Alex Freisen. I doubt this kid is big enough to make it as a energy guy. But he's everywhere. Hitting, hustling, blocking shots, killing penalties. If every kid has a heart like him we'd be unstoppable

Marlies

The goalie(Gibson?) Was pretty solid. Was aided be a few posts and a crossbar with 5 sec left.
Leivo- great skill and energy. Hansen type
C Brown- kid has great hands. A 6th round steal
Nylander- although it was a toss up between him and Sven on the most skill in the game. Guy is not interested. Lazy as a house cat
Ross and Devane are either cowards or agitators

The way I see it; the more Canadian Teams in the playoffs the better... as long as it's not Toronto, they don't even belong in this league.

WTF

How did Calgary manage to get a point out of that game.

Down 4-0 after 2 periods.

I'm just happy I actually got you to offer Duchene in a trade, that alone was shocking even if it was him and one of your d-men for Stamkos and Barrie

I was determined to make a few blockbuster moves baby

I still feel like they're this year's version of the 13/14 Avs.

lol, come to think of it, you are right, that was the first time I offered up Duchene (is it blind faith or stupidity in keeping him? probably a bit of both lol). I still think he's going to be a star but perhaps it's going to take another campaign to really get him into that upper echelon of players (I hope).

Tell me this, if I had offered you Duchene straight up (or maybe Duchene and one other small component) for Stamkos at the beginning of the season, would you have considered it? possibly a dumb question, I know, but based on the way Duchene came on last season, I would imagine most people would have figured he'd pick up right where he left off, and maybe get to that next level that a player like Seguin has this year.

Patrick Roy is doing a terrible job coaching.
top 6 lines are:

Duchene - Mackinnon - Iginla

O'Reilly - Landeskog - Tanguey

They are 22nd in the league for "Goals For"

Yeah their Defense sucks but their is no reason they should be scoring that little.
Colorado I feel should be doing better than they are.

I think a lot of people feel that way. It's truly a head scratcher that with all that offensive talent, they are in the bottom of the league for goals-scored. You feel that it's coaching? or a combination of coaching and lackluster play from their top players? or maybe not enough consistency from Varlamov?

Not anymore... Mackinnon is out for the rest of the season... not that it matters, Av's have been out of the Playoff picture for a while

I didn't realize his injury was that serious - he's gone for the rest of the year? maybe it's a blessing, given the poor results the Avs have had this campaign

Holy sh*t, just unbelievable. Nice prognostication, Vintage (although perhaps you jinxed things )

Flames. Will. Just. Not. Die

You've got to hand it to them, they simply refused to give up - and this, right at the tail end of their long road trip.

Calgary vs Canucks as a first round match-up - put up your hands if that provides you with orgiastic thoughts

- Zogg

Calgary Vancouver in the first round would be awesome. Pretty sure that the majority of times they played each other in the first round one of them made the finals.

We really dont match up that well against anyone. Cali teams, hell no. Calgary? they have something to prove, I dont want to (frank) with them first round.

Is Edmonton still in contention?

Looking at the standings right now.

Crazy how many more points we should have.

Also crazy how many we shouldnt

It will be a crazy battle.

Like I said at the beginning of the year. Its all about entertainment.

And this playoff race is certainly entertaining

I believe you are correct. That's quite remarkable when you think about it. Talk about a great promotional item to throw out at the hockey world. I think even non-Calgary/Canuck fans would find that statistic quite intriguing and maybe even get engaged as viewers. And I think it would be a great series, maybe rekindle some of the 'hate' from previous play-off meetings. All in all, I'm hoping that the stars align and a Calgary/Vancouver series is on the horizon

89, 94, 2004.

I remember them all well.

Joel Otto kicking it in.
Bure double overtime.
Cooke tying it up and then Gelinas OT winner.

Edit: see the pattern...it's our turn.

Don't forget the LA Kings went on to win the Cup after they beat the Canucks in the first round. And didn't San Jose also benefit greatly from beating the Canucks in round one?

Colorado, Chicago, Detroit... I think there was 4 straight years we lost to the eventual Stanley cup winner.
