I actually think he's one of our top d prospects behind Percy and maybe Finn.
- Santo_44

Tells us all we need to know about our defensive prospects. If we lose out on Marner and Strome, I wouldn't hesitate to grab Hanifan and put him into our prospect pool.

The leafs have a solid group of d prospect. All there missing is a Hanafin and it would be complete.

Blue Jackets have a lot of early picks in this draft. Their own first, their own 2nd, Leafs second and another later second and two earlier thirds.. Lucky (frank)s. They may be a team that makes a push to trade up.

Jackets have 2 with Carolina coming up and 2 with the Oilers. If they could win 3 of 4, that might get them far enough ahead of us. We can always hope for some 3 point games. Hopefully Carolina and Columbus split their games and both are 3 pointers....win...win...win! It would be nice to see the Oil get some loser points, as well. Get them ahead of Arizona and into the 3 hole.

If Torontos picking 4th or 5th and jackets are picking 6th, what would it take for them to move up? 1 second? 2 seconds?

The leafs are not just goin to dump these players. They will wait until they get value back. Dumping them all for nothing to finish one or two spots lower in the standings is not a successful way yo rebuild.(let's be honest, evenn f with our rebuild we will still finish ahead of Edmonton next year unfortunately).

What's willall the talk of retaining salary. Neither Phil or dion are overpaid. There's at least ten teams in the league who would have paid those contracts or higher on the open ufa market.

And I think a seen in a previous augello blog some crap about bozak being overpaid. What a farce. Bozak at 4.2 is a total bargain, and he's one of the best 2nd line centres in the league.

That's slightly impossible to tell considering he has never been on the second line ever

Nazem Kadri missed a meeting today and was sent home. Sounds like discipline. #TMLtalk

I base it on the fact that he can play all aspects of the game, pp,pk, offence defence, and even today I think he still ranks 30-40 in total points amongst centres. There's 30 teams in the league so in a way the top 30 point getters could be considered top line centers. The next 30 could be 2 nd line. That's an over simplification but it holds up in most cases.

That's not how it works though. He produces like a second line centre as a first line 20 minute a night offensive zone starting and prime PP playing centre. If a hypothetical first line centre were to play in front of him and he loses all of that, the logical conclusion is that he wouldn't produce like a second line centre.

Also he's one of the worst defensive players in the league when you look at advanced stats...so...?

He's actually an under performing 2nd liner if you account for the amount of ice time he gets and who he plays with. He's not very good, leafs should be laughing if they can get a team to over pay for him.

They may try to trade up and get Hanafin but I think there target is Crouse. They already have a cornerstone center. Crouse plays there style of game.
