Yesterday there were a couple of goofball posts saying that MCDavid was a good player but not close to being a generational talent like Sidney Crosby et. al.

In his last year at Rimouski, Crosby had a 2.7 ppg average. McDavid's average at Erie is 2.6 ppg so far this year. And, he is scoring at a high rate and trending upward. Good chance he finishes ahead of Crosby's ppg average.

This does not mean McDavid will be a better NHL player than Crosby but let's stop this foolish about McDavid being something less than he is.

7th round 202nd overall


If somebody said in 2012 and 2013 that these two guys would be either leading the Marlies in scoring as a rookie, or playing no the top line of his team in the SEL you would have called them burns.

Academia is the plan, but make no mistake about it, the post doc is "a real job". You work full time hours and get paid more than the average wage for the country, the only difference is that your boss is a prof and not a corporate guy.

Thommie Bergman has made some solid picks. Obviously there's Johnson, Loov, Nilsson, Granberg. He had a large say in the Nylander draft pick (and Valiev), plus he's picked guys like Gunnar, Stralman, Komarov in the late rounds too...

What do we have? 16 more games? So if we go 5 - 11, does that get us into the top 5? I wonder if Columbus has 5 more wins in them? Carolina has 3 games in hand, but our ROW is better. I figure that we'll win 2 against Buffalo, at least one against Ottawa and not sure about the Oil. We do have Columbus, one more time, at the end of the year. That has to be a must lose. 5 and 11? Yea, probably number 5 in my books.
