I'd like to see them retain Matthias, within reason. He's the age that Power Forwards begin to blossom. He's exhibits it more than Kassian and is currently 2nd in team scoring. You can't let guys with that potential slip through your fingers while you've got them on your team in the Western Conference; one day it could come back and haunt you. |

Depending on Matthias' contract demands, I agree. |

He shows it marginally more then kassian while being 3 yrs older. Their potential isn't even comparable |

The amusement with Mathias is a bit comical to me. You guys talk like he's some kinda brute force or something. Yeah he is a big man but could drive the net a heck of a lot more then he does |

I just think we have had so few 20 goal scorers over the last decade, we should not be letting them walk . This team struggles to score goals. |

He's never scored 20. He may this yr, so does that make him a guy we can depend on to score 20?
As I said, 3rd line money then sign him. Any more and it's a mistake |

The guy has played with crappy players his whole career including this year. I have no problem 3 years 3.5 and provide him with decent partners |

All kinds of opportunities in Florida with decent players. He plated himself onto the 4th line |

Fla didn't have decent players the were bottom 5 every year and he was 3/4 on the depth charts behind 2 very good centres.
Higgins and Burrows should be moved this year for picks , a savings of 7 mil with a sh1ty UFA crop and no one on the farm. Give the guy his 3.5 x3 |

I think Matthias Horvat Kassian would be a decent second line next year. |

You are paying Vrbata first line money and he is a better finisher. If you can get a second line scoring of big bodies and talent , why wouldn't you? |

Why wouldn't you have size and on both lines and high skill on both lines. Isn't that what makes a line good? The fact it isn't a one trick pony |

The Sedins didn't need Kassian to make their line roll. They were doing fine without him, and Vrbata was more productive. The second line was the one that needed improvement , and Vrbata doesn't make the second line of Bonino Higgins better.
Mathias Bo Kassian would be a better line if Kassian hustled. I would even look at picking up Eric Fehr as a UFA |
