More hippies here, now.
Also, weed is more popular than Lucky.
There is still a dark underbelly, though.

Interesting. Would you say that Cumberland still qualifies as the Luckiest town in the world? I remember seeing that poster when I was in a Liquor Store there once. The only Liquor Store that I have been in that had a couple of pallets stacked full of Lucky Lager.

I do think putting Matthias back on the wing could be one way to try to facilitate that North-South idea. He has been one of the best Canucks all season at carrying the puck down the ice and going to the net, and his 16 goals are second on the team behind Radim Vrbata's 23.

Agreed. I said this awhile back and I can recall some clown on here arguing against the idea of resigning him... Matthias has the size and skill this team has been lacking in previous years...

I think a few of us are misunderstood at times. It would be rather different if we were all sitting a round a table with a full bar and a dish full of jazz cigarettes.

Definitely need a sarcasm emticon!!!

Lols. "Misunderstood"... Sounds like a euphemism.

So does anybody have an update on McNallys health. Out since January. Numbers awfully good when healthy.

While I haven't seen him play Hutton's numbers would suggest he's the next captain of the leafs

I'd prefer to sign him for around three years up to AAV of 3-3.5 mill...

Not sure how it would make someone a clown if Matthias demands big money. If he scores 20+ it's quite possible that he and his agent will get offers of 4M per season. I like him as a 3rd line player, his current shooting % is way too high, perfect timing for him to have a career year.

Im not gonna worry if he walks. To be completely honest, I'd rather the canucks let Mathias, Richardson, Hansen and Higgins all go. (Not gonna happen though). Bring in Hagelin and let a couple kids fight it out for the last spots.
Get rid of KB or Hamhuis.
Look, it has to get worse before it gets better. A top 10 next yr and some valuable minutes for the youngsters

Some eye-opening numbers:

While it's true they totally blew it in those games, their overall record lately is really just a continuation of their barely above .500 record since their hot start. It'd be nice for them to play better, but we're talking about a team with 43 points over it's last 41 games. Only 6 teams (BUF, ARI, TOR, EDM, CAR, and NJD) have fewer points than the Canucks over the last half season's worth of games.

And unfortunately if they keep at that pace for the remainder of the season there's a very good chance they'll miss the playoffs.

Would you trade Horvat for Schneider
- The_Kuze

Not a chance. You don't trade a future Selke candidate for a goalie that was brought up under the Luongo mold.

I don't do the trade for a couple reasons. One, Horvat abs his potential are more needed and 2 age with respect to our roster.
Schnieder is a good goalie

Good points and I agree Schneider is a good goalie...but I feel long term Horvat's upside here will play out more so than if we would have kept Schneider.

with goaltenders presumed to be nhlers, not necessarily NHL Starters, but good goalies regardless. I wouldnt do that trade.

Lack and Markstrom still have alot of potential. Demko is up and coming.

no no no

And out of game shape, any idea of when he is expected back? Hopefully he has enough time to get some games in before (potential) playoffs begin.
- belcherbd

Only needs a week or two to get into game shape. Not sure when he's due back.

It makes the person a clown if they discount signing the guy out of hand regardless of cap hit and suggest the guy didn't go hard to the net on a regular basis when that's what has made him standout...

I doubt anyone wouldn't sign him at 2.5M per. As for going to the net, he certainly does but I'd suggest that guys like Horvat and Burrows are better finishers around the net. He's a solid player, I'm just afraid they'll overpay for a career season that he'll never repeat again.
