I just feel like his stats would look pretty mediocre if he was playing with the Canucks this year(not with the Sedins). Backstrom is one of the best playmakers in hockey and Ovie gets all of the attention from defenders(but still lights them up ).

Hopefully he improves next year, I'm just a bit worried that Toffoli inflated his AHL totals a bit. He's having a decent rookie season, but if he's at the same level next year then the fans will quickly turn on him.

I think he's happy here, but I'm not expecting much of a hometown discount. It's not like he's been brought up in this organization and he's had children go to school here for years.

I am not a huge Fehr fan, don't get me wrong but with this UFA roster he may be one of the few bargains to go after. That's all.

Vey in for kenins is bad enough but with Higgins out, MacMillan in over kenins is crazy

I watch Vey very carefully every game. I see his mistakes ,but I also see more and more of the scoring chances he creates. We are very hard on our rookies. He is never going to be an Ehlers offensively but I think he will be the next level bellow.

My counter-argument is the Caps view the third forward on that line as someone riding shotgun, they'd rather play a mediocre players with decent skill who will get goals/points just by playing with two elite offensive talents. And use their 3rd and 4th best forwards on other lines for better overall scoring. Fehr is not near the top of Washington's actual depth chart, otherwise he'd be on PP1.

It's like the Canucks, everyone knows Vrbata is our best RW'er. But Kassian/Burrows/Hansen have all had looks there because the coaches know whoever plays on that line will get their chances and points. But they want to sue Vrbata elsewhere to get more overall scoring even if it means a few less 1st line goals.

McQuaid would be nice, if the plan is to keep Pedan in the AHL for another year(but once he's called up he'll need waivers to go back down).
