Are his linemates that he played with on the bottom feeders Panthers stil playing in the NHL?
- VANTEL

Well there's Santorelli, who put up more points than him as a Canuck.

Sitting out might put a spark in Kenins. Didn't mcMillan get waived by Sharks. Payback ?

We aren't talking about a paycut. We are talking about not handing out more than he's worth.

Your argument that he's good enough to play with OV and Backstrom doesn't hold much weight. We paid Burrows like a 25-30 goal scorer, how did that work out ?

- golfingsince

Canucks screwed up Burrows contracts. They should have given him 4.5 on his first contract and 2 om his second. Blame Gillis.

Don't forget he's been around since 2007 - that has given him more than ample time to demonstrate that he's more than just a 3rd or 4th liner. I wouldn't take a risk on a guy like that (for the salary that he's going to command based on this one year) unless he can prove that it wasn't just an anomoly and show he's capable of doing that again next year

The Santorelli working on his third team in two years? He's a keeper.

Burrows took a huge discount on that 2 million deal. It's hard to begrudge the guy for getting paid.

Yup Bo should be in JR. and Santorelli between Hansen and Kenins

He did for sure but it doesn't change the fact that they got the contracts backwards.

So now we punish a guy for being sought after ? WTF?

You're grasping at straws because your arguments are being shot down.

Might not be a keeper on his next contract, but he's been a steal these past 2 seasons. I hope the Canucks try to exploit the secondary free agent market like TO did with Winnik/Santo. Worst case, you trade them for picks and basically get free draft picks. Best case, they help your team make the playoffs or potentially make others expendable. Easier to do with forwards than d-men though, seems like any NHL d-man gets signed a week into free agency.

Should have kept Santorelli and not traded the 2nd rounder for Vey.

I'm pretty sure we didn't have cap space to give Burrows that much coin back then.

Why is it one or the other?

I would have signed 1 or both Santorelli and Winnik and moved one/two of the forwards on the roster for picks. Same/better production + more draft picks.

Nah, Should have re-signed Booth. His two goals would be insanely helpful right now when it comes to our place in the standings.

Not even close . I just think he can be a good pick up that not a lot of teams are paying attention to right now. 6' 4 RHF 18 goals at 1.6 mil . Try to make a steal

If Vey gets 15 goals next year they will be dying Santo who? I think Vey creates more chances than Bonino
