How far back are you looking to go? If you look on the right hand side of the page it lists the last ten threads you commented on.

If that's the reason the entire team played like an ECHL team, then the issue is a lot worse than a lack of skilled players....this speaks to leadership. Leadership that prepares the team to go out and put out the best performance every game.

It doesn't matter to me that Arizona is a bottom feeder, they are still an NHL team, with NHL players wanting to play for positions and pride.

My son told me before the SCF run that he didn't think H. Sedin has the necessary skill to captain a team to the SC, back then I chuckled as he and Daniel were the best duo in the NHL, but lately even with both regaining their form, Hank is not captain material.

- Makita

I have to agree with you, Makita. I have always felt this way but one can be confused for a Sedin hater if you question their leadership skills.

Dorsett for captain!!!

Seriously though I just think there is a seriously lack of films that are made that are Oscar-worthy. Mostly it is as you said the artsy films because the alternatives are generally franchises or super-hero movies. The kind of blockbuster that used to come out and win the Oscars is gone because Hollywood is in such a formulaic state right now that very few high budget films are of the type that used to come out. Argo is probably one of the few recent films that had a decent budget/theatre presence that also ticked the boxes for Oscar consideration. Same with Black Swan. (frank)ed up movie

- bezz44

Birdman basically is Black Swan, with theatre instead of ballet.

I was going to say Dorsett for captain at the end of the post...but I also thought I went far enough criticizing the captain.

And to qualify my comment, I not advocating getting rid of the twins, but get a natural leader as captain

I'm not sure man, I think Hank is a great captain, his comments the other day point exactly to that. He could of copped out but he came clean and said straight up this team needs to not take these team lightly. He shows up big when the team needs him and is a consummate professional. His comments regarding Benn and Seguin earlier this year as well are exactly how a captain should react imo.

Jesus, I knew that you were a Sedin hater. Zogg, you've got some work to do.

You could argue that their recent bad (god awful) play agains bad (god awful) teams is a result if poor leadership, but you could also argue that their surprisingly good record during all of their recent injuries is because of good leadership.

He might not be Toews, but I don't know who I would give the C to instead of him. Not Dorsett though.

That comment is more of a joke, he plays with passion every game, others seem to float through from time to time.

But you raise a good question, who do you give the C? At this point I don't think Hank is the guy, or Beiksa. I'm hoping Horvat develops into that role in a couple of years.

go with 4 assistant captians and when virtanen comes give him the C, Langeskog style, even if horvats better, look at Duchene

Haven't seen Birdman yet...will probably throw it in tonight when we are down 2-0 or 3-0 to San Jose early in the game...

I did watch Big Hero 6 the other night with my niece and that movie was very well done I thought. Good for adults and kids.

- LordHumungous

Took my granddaughter to see it she was scared half the movie and she hung onto me for dear life#specialmoments. We loved that movie

What makes a guy captain material in your opinion?
I also hope Horvat can be that guy but I have doubts that he will will end up having a large enough role on the team to justify being captain. He might end up being in the top 6 and I really hope he can continue his strong play and take it to the next level but imo no guarantees yet.

I've got no complaint about Dorsett's game, and it's not like he can't lead without the "C". I read somewhere recently that he spends a lot of time off the ice with Kassian and that is a good thing.

Take the C from the best player this team has ever had (ya I think he is better than Bure), who has been captain during the Canucks most successful seasons and give it to an unproven rookie..... dear god what is wrong with this fanbase.

Dorsett has the bite that a captain should have, the big question is will he be here next year? A few years back we all wanted Steve Downie, Dorsett is that type of player.

Well I guess we see things different, at the beginning of the game there were comments about taking the coyotes to lightly by WD and if that attitude is already prevalent in the room the captain needs to change the attitude.

This has been an ongoing theme with the canucks against perceived lesser skilled teams...not just this year.

BTW, what were the comments made about Benn and Sequin?

Every team plays down to their opponents at times. I'm not even sure if the Canucks do it more often then any other team.

I'm the furthest thing from a Sedin hater. I'm not a fan as Hank for captain. They are amazing fellows on & off the ice and I'm proud to have them as Vancouver Canucks.
Thanks for making my point that if you say Hank is not captain material you are automatically labeled a Sedin hater.

After Benn and Seguin did their sedin sister routine on the radio, and insinuated that they were gay, saying that the twins were examples of what brothers in the league shouldn't be. Hank basically just said that their comments are more reflections of Benn and Seguin than the Sedin's.

I agree that this team has struggled to show up against bottom feeders before but I don't think it is representative of this team as many teams do the same. Someone posted the other day the record of better teams against the bottom feeders which were similar results.
Hank comes to play every night, he might not dish out punishment but always gets back up and doesn't b1tch, doesn't make excuses, is the team's best player, is always one of the best conditioned players even if he isn't naturally gifted with physical attributes. I don't know to me its a no brainer that he is the captain.

It was sarcastic. I disagree, I like Sedin as captain, but I see where you are coming from.
