Lovejoy: plus 2
Despres: minus 3 - Conse
Technically, I don't think you get a minus when you are the guy in the box when the PP goal gets scored...
Still, it's clear who is winning the night. |

He reminds me of a less talented JVR. He has the potential to do it, but just can't put it together. I wouldn't give up on him yet. Let him get a full off season of workouts and a full training camp. Hopefully he has better luck on the injury front and show some improvement - drummer829
BB = projected bust. For a moment, compare #72's game, or at least his ability to bury the puck, w/ that of BB. #72 scores most of his goals w/in < 10ft of the cage (i.e. the area of the ice BB is to meek to venture into). Flash & dash and skill mean nothing if you can not set-up shop in the dirty areas of the ice. When was the last time anyone saw BB battle for position in front of the net? Right! Secondary scoring... hell, let's just skate around the rink and avoid all possible contact. Here, BB has no game, and will soon be relegated to a mere after-thought. #19 is a waste of a sweater.

Penalty had expired a second or two before the goal was scored.

Ouch. Don't think Despres' night could get much worse than it has been, but that'll do it. |

Good for us. Lovejoy's stick work is much improved since his first Penguins' days. |

Pouliot's skating and play reminds me of a mix of Letang and Martin.....the moves of Letang but without the speed, but the smarts and shiftiness of Martin. |

Martin's also a pro at slowing things down, which is something Pouliot does.
Also, Pouliot's shot fake on the PP was one of the first shot fakes I've seen in months. It's a really effective play with this forward group, because it pauses the defense for a couple of seconds and lanes open up. |

That last shift (4th line w/ #27, #40, and #13) is the eye-test (for all the non believers) that supports RW's recent post & stats usage. That group is not NHL caliber talent. |

If you get a penalty and the opposing team scores while you are in the box you do not get a minus. |

Adams is sssssssoooooooo slow. His inability to stop the rush in the offensive zone was one of the factors in the goal. wow. |

Yep, I needed "advanced" stats to determine that Craig Adams isn't a very good 5 on 5 hockey player. Before that I always thought he was the second coming of Theo Fleury. |

The 4th line has been playing a ton ever since it went to 3-0.
That's just smart coaching with a game in L.A. tomorrow night.
Spaling has just about 11 minutes of ES TOI tonight. Crosby has about 12.
There's battles and then there's wars. |

Adams blows. He should never see the ice. The rest I'm fine with but God damn... He can't even clear the puck to get a change. |

It reminds me of last years playoffs. Night after night he sucks and yet he's right back out there. |
