All four lines contain a player that was waived this season (Chipchura, Arcobello, Cunningham, McGinn)

Yannick Weber still on the top pairing
- belcherbd

Weber is all the grossness of Raymond, Rome and Macmillan rolled into one. With all these injuries you'd think weber would eventually get hurt

I remember fondly Eklund's unending coverage of the Doan sweepstakes not too far back. Then after concerted meetings with senior management he was convinced to sign a new deal with ARI. Great move Shane, you'll be pushing 50 when this team is ready to compete again.

I remember that, he was testing the market and talking to every team. Canucks were apparently one of teams he wanted sign with, then he ran back to glendale wasting all of our breath in hoping he joined our team.

It was reported today as well that he was frustrated that the team has decided to rebuild.....honestly how could he not know this was coming.

They've finally had an owner long enough to start a rebuild.

I have to think that, at this stage in his career, Doan just wasn't willing to float around with his family to a variety of contenders. It's not for everyone and I hear the golfing is great year-round in ARI.

Apparently it is quite dirty though, dust is always being blown around while your playing.

And they use water from the sewage system to irrigate. They have a system to separate solid waste from liquid and then they run it through some chemical process to kill the bacteria and pump it out to the greens. It still comes out as poop stained water. Reason why the twilight package is soo cheap. No local ever plays twilight there.

Pretty sure Garth had a restraining order placed on him by the Doan family after that episode. Ek rewarded him by giving him one of the main blogs.

Not when you can't afford 4mil for a 30 goal scorer

You make that look like a negative when maybe you should spin it into a positive. Matthias was toiling away in the Panthers org and he comes to Vancouver, different environment, and has a career season and inline for a raise.

Hoping he will be resigned, but if not, maybe his production will make it look like Vancouver is the right team/environment for a player to produce to their potential. It might make Vancouver a more attractive destination for free agents or trade targets, even if they have some sort of limited or ntc.

I'd rather guys meet or exceed expectations than underperform, no matter the ramifications.

So running through the sprinklers on a hot day/evening is not encouraged.

Matthias is a lifelong Canuck fan, his whole family is over here, he's stoked to be here. Pretty sure he'll be willing to sign a modest deal come summertime.

Sold as a tourist package. Apparently the experience makes you feel like the cast from Slum Dog Millionaire. Highly recommended.

Bieksa had career years every contract year, it's how the game is played.

ESPN headline: Olsen inks 3-year, $22.5M deal with Panthers

Almost had a heart attack, then I remembered that ESPN would never put anything hockey on its front page

It's a good thing that GMMG isn't still here as his offer would likely include a full NMC over his entire contract offer.

I thought he is from Toronto. But I do remember him in an interview early this season saying that this is the most fun he has ever had playing in NHL. He absolutely loves the team, fans and the city. I hope he takes home town discount and stays.
