7+ goals a season is why you'd expect from 3rd line. - Retinalz
He plays the power play and is on the 2nd line. I expect more from Higgins, as should you. |

Higgins sucks. If he wasn't a glue guy, good along the boards and a great teammate, he'd be out of the nhl. - Scooby_Doo
Fine, play him on the 4th line and quit wasting the top 6 minutes he is getting |

Yeah, I have a bigger issue with his deployment than I do with the actual player. Not sure why WD continues to trot him out there on the PP and I'd also limit his minutes in situations where the team needs a goal. My reasoning is that he's a good possession player but typically teams trailing in the game tend to when the possession battle anyway, at that point you want to play more of your better shooters and more efficient scorers rather than a guy like Higgins who's more suited to protect a lead. |

Higgins has 34 career PP goals, 29 of those were with Mont. so 5 pp goals in 7 years, don't expect to much. |

Nucks are 11th in goals for per game but it's a negative that this team has spread out it's scoring? I don't understand. - belcherbd
It's good that the scoring is spread out, but it would be good to have a consistent second line/second PP unit and a bit more contribution from the defense.

Hes always been a depth guy, 3rd line as his peak (you don't acquire top 6 talent/potential for a 3rd rounder) but the "chemistry" he had with Kesler made people think otherwise. Its about time we put him back where he belongs |

How many teams in the history have had 4th lines combining to get 21 goals a season?
Some seasons you get a rookie that comes in and starts doing this, but they often make it up the lines when playing well. 4th liners are not meant to score, they are meant to give the 1st/2nd line a break and not get scored on. - Retinalz
This used to be the plan, but now a days without an enforcer many teams included the Canucks are basically dressing a second 3rd line instead of a 4th Line.

Higgins and Bonino are the two worst skaters on the team. Put them with Dorsett and call that the fourth line. At least then our expectations would be lowered. |

Maybe you haven't noticed that this team has 1 1st and 3rds. After the top 4 guys Sedin Sedin Vrbata and Bonino, the next 7 players are separated by 30 sec of average ice time 5 on 5.
Higgins likely shouldn't be on the PP but he is 7th on the team in regards to pp ice time. |

I wonder how the distribution of Canuck goals across the 4 lines is in comparison to other teams... I am willing to bet we are in the top 10 for 1st and 4th line scoring, middle of the pack for 3rd, and dead last for 2nd line scoring |

Yeah, there really isn't an actual "2nd line" in terms of ice time on this team so anyone complaining about Higgins getting top 6 minutes doesn't really understand that.
But he shouldn't be even getting a sniff of any PP time, the 2nd unit has been a joke and a guy with a sh% as low as him makes little sense to have out there. What makes him so valuable is his possession play but the PP is all about what the player can actually do with possession since usually gaining control of the puck isn't the issue. Guys wit higher shooting %'s like Bonino, Kassian, Vey, Horvat, Kenins, Matthias, etc all make more sense than having Higgins out there. |

Though they may be wanting to keep him off of it so when they resign him he has 20 goals not 30 |

Arizona's apparent lineup for tonight, Buffalos lineup was better, there should be no reason we lose this one. - phyllee
That is atrocious. Something is seriously (frank)ed up in this league when teams need to ice such lineups in order to improve in the future. |

Yikes! Chipchura as the first line center, he was waived earlier this season. Toronto thinks they have issues at center ice! |

All four lines contain a player that was waived this season (Chipchura, Arcobello, Cunningham, McGinn) |
