I don't think it really has an effect on the game, this team just keeps taking these bottomfeeders lightly and doesn't show up. Hell, even if they woke up after the firts period and dominated the rest of the game it would have been decent. But they looked like the team tanking for McDavid in that OT. Never seen so many careless passes in just a span of 2-3 minutes in my life. - Nucker101
That was shocking! |

I liked Biega's game, he did a good job of separating the man from the puck and could make a good first pass, decent slap shot as well. - Nucker101
He was deplorable in his own end. Very panicky. |

I thought he was at first, and during the last game in front of the home crowd. But in between I thought he handled himself well with the puck. It's not like any of our d-men are actually legit offensive players right now so I'd rather have the guy who was playing physical and pretty well defensively. |

I've been wanting to see him on PP1 as the net presence with the Sedins, with Vrbata as the trigger man. Two righties with the Sedins seems to work well.
He and Burrows are by the the two best players on the team in front of the net IMO. |

The thematic elements are juvenile and simply pander to popular opinion. Weak scripts, and frankly, the visuals which were supposed to insert an element of grit and grunge, were simply offputting.
Edit: Seriously though, those movies have about as much finesse as our boy Tom Tostitos - bezz44
Elysium I'll give you as like I said it borrowed from alot of films but District 9 was in no way a 'popular opinion' film...not even close. It was technically brilliant and not over CGI'ed and the CGI was top notch. Every once in awhile a film comes along that is inventive and gritty and this was it. The look and feel of District was 9 was outright gorgeous and through the film it was consistently gripping and sucked the viewer in. Very original work in today's moviemaking. They didn't need overused or overexposed celebs and accompished all that artistic form on a 30m dollar budget whch goes to show how movies can be. It was by far the most brilliant film of that year.

Bieksa's actually salary for next year is2.5 mil which would make him great for a team like Ottawa or NYI - VANTEL
IMO Bieksa is not going anywhere with his NTC contract. He said last year that he will go down with the sinking ship. He and his family love the lifestyle in Vancouver and was quoted as saying so. He will be here till his contract ends. I know Benning was able to move Garrison but I cant see Linden/Benning approaching one of the leaders of the team and asking him to waive. He wont. You could force his hand but again I cant see that happening. |

Hated both of these movies - bezz44
I liked District 9, though I have no urge to rewatch it, but Elysium was painful. |

I thought it was just too weird, literally the whole time I was just thinking "wtf" but I just looked it on IMBD and Rotten Tomatoes and it has great audience ratings so maybe it was just wasn't my type of movie. |

I agree, as much as fans rosterbate about moving Bieksa or Burrows it just isn't going to happen. Too much history with the club and control by the players. This is why Benning needs to be very careful in not handcuffing himself with other contracts/players that cannot be moved ( Sbisa/Vey/Clendenning/Baertschi) |

All his goals in front are reminding me of Monahan last year ...the puck just seems ro find them
The sedins seem to be clicking lately but if they go in a slide at all would be interesting to see Bo with Danny and any of Burrows/Kassian |

I'm curious to hear what you think of it. - PetrolSexual
It was a good movie. I'd give it a 7.5/10.
Sharlot Copley, the guy from District 9, is always knocking it out of the park, and he did so in this movie as Chappie. You can't expect anything less out of him. The movie had good action sequences, was surprisingly funny, and had great CGI. It was a little longer than I think it should've been, but the movie makes up for it in its philosophical exploration of intelligence and consciousness.
Worth a watch, but don't expect it to be better that district 9. |

He has been better but I don't think he has proved he is worth what he needs to be offered 3 million a year. |

I thought district 9 had some cool things going for it, not sure about the popular opinion thing as it has some subtle apartheid themes as well as taking a different approach to the whole alien theme. I also liked the way it was filmed doc style and the switch halfway through the movie. I liked gitty offputing scenes as well, eating cat food etc.
Elysium was pure garbage IMO tho, very generic and unoriginal and chappie looks the same to me. - belcherbd
There was nothing subtle about the apartheid themes
It was set in South Africa, and instead of blacks they gave you aliens...
The director and his writers tried to use a hammer, couldn't find one, and used a jackhammer instead |
