Reimer, Kenins, and Bozak are available from my side.
I'm at the movies, so I can take offers through Yahoo.
Is tonight the legit deadline? |

Chapie; it's a movie about a robot with human level intelligence. It's written and directed by that Vancouver guy who made District 9 & Ellysium. Should be good. |

What an embaressment. - vancity787
Very embarrassing...another two points s**t away vs a bottom feeder basically AHL club. I'd say it again but most know on here in reality playoffs are gonna be a massive stretch.
We talked last Sept about what needed to happen for this team to solidify a PO spot...three things:
a) Keep Horvat up - check. Crucial that he stayed because of the needs he filled and has turned out to be better than expected.
b) Acquire a true top 5 dman with actual puck moving ability - fail. I'm almost willing to give Benning a pass here because our AHL Defense has stepped up on occasion and played well thru the injuries to our 'top 4 D'. But ultimately you have to have someone back on Defense that can take over and control games when needed...we have none of that. Watching Stanton and Weber tonight...painful.
c) Acquire a top 6-9 forward to either play properly with Bonino or move up/down through the top 3 lines - fail. Preferably a true 15-20 goal guy but I guess the deal just wasn't there. There was opportunity to not have to give up assets or youth to get this done too.
I'm happy with the Linden/Benning/Desjardins show so far but they are all new to their positions and learning on the go. There will be decision making mistakes along the way and that's life. But sometimes what you have 'isn't good enough' as Benning and co. seem to think. The Miller injury is not helping even though Eddie looked pretty good tonight after the first two. But Playoffs at this point are going to be a stretch...
Lacking the ability to close out tanking teams like BUF and ARZ for a full two points in each game is a MASSIVE concern.
Here we go down the stretch...

Loved District 9 and thought Elysium was decent. But what a name for a @#$ movie - Chappie? sounds like some sort of flick about a haberdasher and his pet monkey, Chappie |

Chappie: could also be the name of a gay male stripper who opens up his routine with "turbo lover" and crescendos with "another one bites the dust" |

It was 1 point lost not two.
I'm not going to call a bunch of fails like you because they didnt have the same plan as you wished. All their moves point to the future being a bigger priority than making moves for this years play off run. If they make it, bonus. All the moves since the season started have screamed "filling the generation gap"(picks for propects) and positioning for the future. Kassian is still here and hasnt been converted to a playoff rental like you wanted... management's plan is not the same as yours... I doubt they call these decisions a fail. The playoff talk was lip service. They want to be there but there are more important things and they hopefully will be dealt with at the draft and July 1st.
You called not making the playoffs "a disaster" a while back because that was managements priority. I thought you might change your view on their priority with the moves this season implying otherwise....I bet their list has check marks instead of x's like yours.
Cheers. |

Lol so they beat the better teams and lose to all the crap teams. Training camp with anyone that can score makes this team. Lol Higgins missed in the SO. He was the glue now he's the goat. |

I don't think I said disaster but I guess I'll take your word for it.
Sure we got a 'point' but Bettman loser points don't help us right now. Playoffs have been and still are a priority and it's frustrating to witness this right now. I'm like most on here where I realise the team is going nowhere but with playoffs close it would be nice to see them get in.
Oh I'm sure Canucks mngt has a different outlook than most if not all of the posters on here including yourself.
Those three key points are just how I see it and have been discussed by many others on here. I'm trying to be acceptive to the fact that playoffs are a priority for this club THIS season and the stuff needed to get there wasn't done. But I am also acceptive to the fact that we finally have a decent prospect list coming up and the moves this summer and next season will be even more important to the future.

Thank you guys for providing Arizona with two points and yourselves with one point. You've done a great service for this city, and crawled out of a 2 goal deficit to help your playoff hopes. |

I care about the playoffs, but not at the expense of the future. But who knows, if they get healthy they might have another run in them. |

Bruins signed Krug for a 3.8 cap hit. I think this might work in Nucks favor with Tanev negotiations. I also think now Bruins wont be able to afford McQuid. Maybe we get him for 4*4yrs. Makes KB expandable. Weber should be gone. Sbisa resigned and Stanton as well as a 7/8 guy. |

One year extension until they get cap relief. Smith is two years. |

Last night the frustrating thing is once again the Canucks played down or up to their opponents. It is hard to describe an identity to the team when it changes game to game. I think this is why the fan base has so many roller coaster emotions and comments. The team is either all world one game to AHL rejects the next.
I do think we are still trending upwards but we still need to throw out the old bath water . To me I don't even think for a second of Burrows Higgins or Bieksa playing here next year. We need draft picks and they are trade bait . Richardson is gone . Four new spots four new players. |

Where are they getting the cap relief from? They will for sure resign Lucic. Erickson is the only 1 I see will be gone but then they have to resign Campbell, Paille, Soderberg, Spooner, Connolly, Hamilton, Bartowski, McQuid, and a backup goalie.
They have 13 mill coming off the books next year and from that they have used 6.8 to sign Smith and Krug. Lets say the cap goes up by 3mil that leaves 10 mil to sign Campbel, Paille, Soderberg, Spooner, Connolly, Hamilton, Bartowski, Mcquid and a backup goalie. I think Soderberg and Mcquid will become expandable. |

I meant the following year they can re-sign Krug to a proper contract when they have more cap space
Tanev will be looking at 4.2-4.5 |
