Basically that its not something that Mact can fast forward. Needs to stay patient. As much as there is a need to make a trade he can't let other teams fleece him and that's the offers he's getting. Not what fans want to hear but low and slow. Look at the Leafs. Tried to fast forward and now 5 years later are tearing it down.

Its been talked about over and over. It wasn't just the 7th pick. Van wanted more to deal him in the division. They wanted the 7th, and another pick and Klefbom. They settled for less from Jersey.

Really....concensus at the time was that Van wanted the 7th plus something else, thats why Mac was pissed they took the Devils 10th.

And I don't know what you're watching. Ferraro and Maguire were basically saying changes need to happen but Mact is right in taking it slow. O'Neill is the only one ripping them completely. Even Ward who usually rips them was 50/50.
