Well considering that we heard the best offers last week were a 3rd rounder I'd say we got a better return. Petry isn't a top pair. Coburn and Sekera are thought of throughout the league as 1st pair guys. Isn't it obvious? But I guess only Mact is evaluating him wrongly! He's a top pair cuz Matt says so!

Well... Let's see, some people think that was all that could be received for Petry, you clearly think it is not. I do not see either point "not worthwhile" , as for anybody being "part of the problem" we are just fans, all we do is cheer, pay (if we choose to) and so on.
But we are also readers and are entitled to our opinion and the whole point of blogs is to express them.

Maybe MacT didn't wait long enough. Just a thought, but what if he waited till closer to 3:00pm to see if other teams would step up near the end after seeing what the competition did throughout the day. I realize that could back fire but with the return he got this morning would it have been that big of a loss? Besides, if he held on to him for the rest year, maybe he could have moved him at the draft for a conditional pick.

You have a poor grasp of the reality of this situation, which surprises me because you seem fairly intelligent. Petry simply isn't as good as you imagine to garner the sort of return you may have been hoping for.
