Alright already, heard this a few times. Petry wasn't part of the problem, but was not part of the solution either, just take a look at what Coburn got back from Tampa and you will see where Petry is among NHL D.
It is not that we lost Ryan Sutter or Drew Doughty, let's move on.

Petry clearly wasnt and isn't as highly thought of by other teams. Coburn, Sekera Franson all got more. So we got what the market would pay for him. Can we move on and stop over rating him now?

If you think Petry isn't at fault for wanting to sign a reasonable longterm deal and stay then you are part of the problem. Hey let's overpay everyone and give him a longterm deal! He wanted to be a UFA. And the return for him should be a clear indication of what the rest of the league thinks of him. A second pair d.
