There was a study done some time ago about Ek's accuracy. He was right at roughly 3% of his trades. That is lower than picking a random name out of a hat.

The whole organization is way too corporate these days. I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of having Malkin and Crosby for the next few years in their prime, but part of me is looking forward to when we start loading up draft picks and return to the '07 type of Pens when the rabid excitement returns to the team and arena. These days the regular season is a foregone conclusion and the excitement of winning a playoff round is met with a ho-hum attitude.

100% agreed. The arena is dead all the time, even the PLAYOFFS for crying out loud! Pisses me off so much. The Flyers game Saturday night when someone got a breakaway the place erupted. That one moment was louder than I can remember hearing at our barn in the past 3 years at least.

Being told that the Penguins aren't in the $2.5-$2.6 million price range. Still shopping, but a different store.

So basically we're going after Bortuzzo type guys. Why bring in another defenseman around Bortz skill that will have to learn the system while giving up assets for it?
