He missed the part where the nucks add in 3 more 1sts, and Horvat and Hunter. And take Horton's salary. |

We should send a Limo to Dion's House. Tell the driver to pick him up and take him to the airport... |

So your telling me that you expect a team to add 8 million a year... instantly. I don;t think you have been following the conversation. - Beatle_john

Expecting a slow day for Leafs. I don't want tea to retain salary even for Dion trade. I think best hope is someone bites on a possible Lupul trade. |

I think all draft picks are gone for the next couple of years, Leafs will have to try for 2017 picks from teams, ha!!
If all else fails, go to the Rangers for their 2017 and 2018 picks. |

Prices are kind of insane. Was hoping that Bergevin would make a deal or two but seeing what is going on since yesterday, I won't mind if he doesn't move. |

Fair enough.
I'm definitely going to need to choose my words carefully today. After waiting months for this day, the worst thing would be getting a ban and having to talk to my wife about the trades. - systemtool

I'm okay with retaining a milly or so to help get something done on Dion, and as long as the return justifies it. For guys with lower hits like Lupul, Bozak there should be no retention of salary... |

Well with the prices being high, you can always sell and come back again next year... |

This is suppose to be a fantastic draft year with teams wanting to hold on to their first round picks but they are being traded often.
Bergevin must be shaking his head. He either has to play the game of giving away futures or sit back and watch teams around him get better. I think he does something today, don't think he has much choice.

I agree but would some how rather give up something like a prospect throw in rather then retain money for Dion.
Heck, I would say Dion is better then Cobourn, imo, and look at what Philly got for him |

It's all about Price for the Habs: I don't see him faltering at all this year, but if he gets hurt, they're done because they don't have the scoring depth. |

They can't even give him away unless they retain half his salary, even then they will get back a cap dump. |

If Brayden (frank)ing Coburn can get that return Dion should get a decent one with a bit of retained sallary. |

Yep, plenty of 5M dmen I would take ahead of Phaneuf IMO. And not signed for 7 years I might add. |
