They could probably make a killing if they retained 3 mil, assuming they are allowed to. If they expect that they'll suck for that many years it may be worth considering.

I'd rather take back a dead weight contract like Weiss for shorter term, get a 1st along with it and cut my losses.

I know Leafs technically lose that trade, but the addition by subtraction as well as adding a center that, as (frank)ing poopty as he is, is probably better than all of ours except Kadri as well as a 1st would suit me just fine.

Semin has been thrown out there. not as many years left on deal. Im not sure what exact numbers are. But Carolina trading for Dion right now doesnt make much sense

I was watching TSN and the most complimentary thing about Dion Phaneuf was he could be an ok second-pairing D-Man. That means he might not crack the top 100 NHL D-Men list.

Does anyone besides me get tired of our players being so undervalued? Keep in mind this comes after a couple of days of Clarkson being traded.
