His numbers are actually better than that on a team where he gets outshot nightly. He sported a .924 save % last year while getting outshot the most of any goalie.

He has good overall numbers, no one can deny, but he has brutal lapses to often, and despite his numbers, doesn't get many shutouts or steal many games... He is also quite suspect in the shootout, and playoff teams win 5-7 for sure...

Hopefully someone better than Bernier, in a few years time, thats 4 years to develop and/or find another one... They got Bernier for not much, so it isn't a big deal...

I think Leafs keep Bernier for a year or two. As far as I heard they aren't sure what they have in him yet and aren't ready to give up but also not tie themselves to him long term
