yeah, 0 points so far, but I don't know what he sees in the way of ice time or linemates. Still early enough I guess to keep giving him a look. Drafted in '12

I dont think going to UFA was ever the goal, it was all about being paid fairly for what he brings to the table, and he has repetitively said that too, that this is all part of the business side and you have to make as much as you can when you have the ability to bc you never know when injuries can cut you down.

The 2 year deal he is on now has more to do with what Duchene was making and what they offered stastny. If they offered Stastny and signed him near the 7m that he was asking, why would you expect a younger and better ROR to sign for less than that or less than what Dutch is making on a long term deal, especially coming off the year he had.

Sakic did it himself one in his career signing that 3 year 21m deal from the Rangers and the Avs quickly matched. He was at a stale mate with them and he did what he had to do to be paid what he was worth

Judging from what he has done in the past, he wants to have teams competing for him.

He held out once during the lock out with a big group of RFAs that dragged into the shorten season. Benn and Stepan as the other 2, its not like he did anything crazy.

12 points in 35 games. Doesn't scream "success", but at least it's points...

Projects are fine, could always turn into a diamond, but this one doesn't seem to have that upside. Oh well.

Not sure how others feel, but Buffalo should strongly consider keeping Neuvirth. The guy is keeping the Sabres in games when they shouldn't be. A trade I don't think would muster much of a return, and he's still young.

Yeah, some of us including myself are having a tough time balancing the risk of trading him vs the risk of him stealing games and being able to re-sign him. If he's traded, I sincerely hope Murray has a plan for July 1st.

And last time it was Team elected Arbitration on the 1st day that they could. ROR and the Avs negotiated right up to the point they had to go Arbitration even though neither side really wanted to go

Keeping Neuvirth could result in us strongly considering Marner over Hanifin.

You guys need new uniforms. Of all the teams that slaughtered theirs with the Reebok edge template, my GOD Colorado's is the worst. Aside from that perty 3rd.

P.S. Avs have always been my second favorite [disclaimer: Since 1995].

No it wont. Neuiverth is not a goalie that is going to carry a team on a long run.

People are freaking out over nothing, IMO.

The Sabres are bad. They got a few points. That is going to happen to EVERY TEAM.

Neuvirth is at the exact age that a goaltender hits their prime, right around 27. He looks good. He looked good last year in the few games he played. They guy has won a Calder Cup. IMO, you keep this guy going forward. If no trade happens by the deadline, you sign him for 2/3 years and at worst he is a back-up. He won't demand a high salary and could end up being really good.

We are a few points away from being kicked out of last place

I would actually like to keep Neuvirth but if its at the cost of losing out at the draft, then later

There is too much at stake not to freak out. Why risk playing the average goalie when we have a tank specialist waiting to play?
