I should have dumb down the question. We are all aware of the accolades, was talking about technique/stats. - hunglikeapuck
The technique changed so much that I don't think it's possible to compare. Also, with the technique improving, the numbers for goalies have gotten better.
So in other words, case closed. |

3 Vezinas and 4 Jennings trophies is a reflection of regular season.
This is nothing to take away from Price. He will likely win the Vezina this year....his first. Lets see him do it year after year before you can compare them. - yemrots
has anyone told you to shut up yet? |

It's OK. I changed my stance on the whole thing.
Patrick Roy would be a mediocre goalie in today's game.
Phew....that feels better. Hunglikeapuck...we all good now? |

you're arguing different things. one side is arguing that Price at 27 is as good as Roy at 27. stormey is arguing that Roy accomplished more. |

Pretty much, yep.
Winning and losing is not necessarily an indication of an individuals play. |

Vezina and Hart for Carey this season? - BingoLady
i think so. but the Hart mainly because there have really been no special performances from forwards or defencemen this year. is anyone even on pace to break 90 points? this is like the early 2000s all over again. |

I think so. Pretty hard to make a case for anyone else that isn't named Rinne... and that team still won after he was hurt soooooo |

Irbe kept the same equipment for the majority of his career and just kept patching and restuffing it because he's a goddamn lunatic. |
