Meh, look on the bright side; at least we dont have to hear John Bartlett try really hard to pronounce Sekac's name correctly during play by play. - maxbart5
Yeah, in Anaheim, he'll just be Year-E Sea-Catch. |

in the grand scheme of things I don't think this trade changes much.
I know Smith Pelley and a decent playoffs a couple of years ago or last year I don't remember but maybe they're just hoping he can be more of a factor then than Sekac would have been.
SO LONG SO LONG JIRI SEKAC WE HARDLY KNEW YOU!!!!! - basementfloor
He (DSP) brings some jam. Sekac was no shrinking violet, but he didn't get in peoples' faces either...
That's the positive I see in the deal...and I hope it works out. But I also see some arguments that could be made the other way... |

I don't know what to think about the trade yet. Guess we wait and see. - hscesq
Well chances are MT will never play him anyway. |

You know Sekac is scoring next Thursday, right? He will be on the first line with Getzlaf and Perry. |

that's a bit unfair. i don't think it was personal. Sekac was a rookie and he wasn't producing. what was MT supposed to do? - DoubleDown
I think they needed an RW if you look at the line-up right now (Eller with Pleck and Galchenyuk?), but Pelly has been scratched himself a few times this year. |

Send him to Hamilton for a year in AHL. Still could pick up DSP for a pick or Thomas or someone.. |

I will be at that game expecting people to cheer when Smith-Pelly scores not realizing he plays for the other team.. |
