Wondering how much patient Bergevin will be with Tinordi. I thought he looked ok out there, but if Pateryn is adead of him, it can't be a good sign. |

Bartkowski, brings speed, agility, toughness, and discipline. His +8.08 Corsi On places him as the 43rd ranked defenseman in the NHL, out of 217. He's top 4 "stay at home" material on virtually every team in the league. He's a better defender than PK Subban, Victor Hedman, Erik Larsson, Nick Hjalmarsson, Dustin Byfuglien, Ryan Suter, Mark Streit, Christian Ehrhoff, Nik Kronwall, Jay Bouwmeester, Rob Regehr, just to name a few BIG NAMES who can't hold Bartkowski's stick on defense.

I'm all for waiting and seeing.
But the lack of progression on his part is a matter for concern imo. |

The NHL Trade Deadline is on Monday and teams are making decisions on whether to buy or sell and decide which players can make the biggest difference and hold the greatest value. Check out today's trade rumours and speculation from around the NHL beat. And follow TradeCentre on TSN and TSN.ca through Deadline Day for all the updates.
Oilers and Habs?
Jim Matheson of The Edmonton Journal wrote on Thursday that Canadiens goaltending prospect Zach Fucale could be available (this summer) in a trade because he would be no more than a backup to Carey Price in Montreal. Matheson notes that the Oilers would be interested as they wanted to take him with the 37th pick in the 2013 draft, but the Canadiens took him one spot earlier.
Matheson adds that the Habs really want blueliner Jeff Petry on their second pairing and wonders if the Canadiens include Jared Tinordi in a deal for him. He also asks if a deal for Petry could fetch Ryan Sproul from Detroit, Pittsburgh's Scott Harrington, Washington's Madison Bowey or Josh Manson from Anaheim or Chicago's Klas Dahlbeck or Stephen Jones.
Matheson also wrote earlier this week that the Canadiens reportedly offered their 2013 first-round pick Michael McCarron to the Coyotes for defenceman Zbynek Michalek.
Bozak - In Edmonton?
David Staples of The Edmonton Journal doubt the rumours that the Oilers are interested in acquiring centre Tyler Bozak, as he carries a $4.2 million cap hit for three more seasons - that is, unless the Oilers send back a similar contract the other way. |

Matheson is just speculating. EDM wants Fucale, it's not the Habs that want to get rid of Fucale. And that McCarron rumor is bullpoop. He picked that up from Renaud who said the Coyotes had an offer for Michalek before his injury and made an educated guess because Lavoie has good sources with the Habs and he's the one that got the info out that Michalek was almost traded.

That is a false. Habs did not offer Fucale for a UFA either.

I know, nobody wants McCarron. Not even the Knights. |
