Boychuk, 31, is in the final year of his current contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

The Post reports Boychuk is looking for an annual salary of $6 million.

Boychuk is a solid player and all.

But 6M per year is close to superstar salary.....

And there are numerous factors explaining Boston's decline.... Chara looking worse every year is the most important imo... even if Boychuk leaving did cause a hole in their defense.
