it's not that they're not the same, it's that they don't respond to it because it's not their game. we weren't complaining about this when Boston got physical last spring or when game 3 against NY got physical. last night they just happened to lose. other times, they win. - DoubleDown
I'd prefer to see a boost on offense, I get the protect Price sentiment but think lack of offense is more of a concern. |

If the habs are looking for a d-man to help drive possession, and contribute offensively.......they should look at trying to get Weircioch out of ottawa.
for some reason the coaching staff (both old and new) like to scratch him, and for some odd reason think that cowen is a better player (which is insane). the guy drives possession better than anyone on the sens roster not name karlsson, and produces every time he's in the lineup. also, based on teh fact that ottawa seems to think he isn't that good (based on how often they scratch him), you could probably get him for a relatively low price.
if it was me, i'd want to keep him.......i think he's probably the 4th best d-man on our team, behind karlsson, methot, and ceci..........but i think he'll be moved. would fit in very well in montreal on the 2nd or 3rd pair, and 2nd PP unit. |

yeah i actually think it better serves Montreal not to respond. you don't want other teams thinking they can get you off your game like that. though what Gryba tried to do last night was a joke. |

We'll Phaneuf at 3-4 ml (after subtracting 3-4 mil) is a great deal and you'd definitely have to add picks and prospects if the Leafs were to retain that much salary |

That's not something a trade will fix, it's a byproduct of Therrien. |

even Phaneuf at $5 million is fine. but not for 7 years. that's ridiculous. |

Because fighting isnt really encouraged in the playoffs. Besides Boston is the only physical team that the habs can beat playing the soft speed game, just because. Any other team plays physical and the habs fold. We have Prust but whoopty doo, he's good for only one scrap a game and then what? We need alot more toughness. Kreider is licking his chops seeing our weak pansy team (especially our d corps), he knows he can run Price again if they meet in the playoffs without any consequences. And thats just one example. I mean just a couple of tough players, a forward and a defenseman, would make a huge difference. Stewart up front and McQuaid/Prout on the back end. Get it done MB. |
