yes, Phaneuf is the ideal player that Montreal should add. if he had a contract commensurate with his skill and performance. which he doesn't, because Dave Nonis is, quite possibly, the worst GM the NHL has seen in over a decade. - DoubleDown
Excellent. He's yours, for free. |

Subban played with a lot of discomfort in the 3rd apparently...sometimes these things really swollen up after the skate is off |

Pateryn, for a guy who's 6'2" and weighs 222lbs, looks pretty weak out there, getting pushed around.

Saw last night Barry Melrose say that subban had a fracture....now I don't want to assume that's the case considering its ass hat Melrose, but that would be brutal if it ended up being the case. |

If I was him, I'd also be pretty tired of getting assaulted every game and never being rewarded with a drawn penalty. I'm beginning to wonder if he has to die before someone gets a 2 minute minor. - 3M
That's what pisses me off...it's like the refs have put him in the same category as Marchand and rats like that... Gallagher plays hard, clean and all the way until the whistle. He gets in people's faces, but he rarely goes over the line. The refs are acting like he's over the line and letting the opposition get away with penalties...
I don't know why they have that perception of him, and more importantly, I wonder how long until it starts changing... |

wouldnt they have taken the skate off to take a look? either way, you could tell he couldn't push off. he wouldn't have played if they weren't already down a man the previous 40 minutes IMO. i expect him to be out for a bit, just hope its only a week or two. he's not as valuable to the team as Price but he's close. |

i think that enough goalies whined about him being too close that he got a reputation like Marchand or Avery. it won't change unless he plays a different way and if he plays a different way, he'll be completely ineffective. it's not necessarily fair but it's the way it is. |

The minute things get physical...this team isn't the same. - Symba007
That's why we badly need some physical players especially on D, not a (frank)ing Petry or a Sekera. Maybe it was a sign yesterday, habs wanted Petry, Petry gets hurt from a shot from McQuaid, so maybe thats the guy we should go after. I dont care that he's a bruin i just want to see some toughness on D dammit. |

it's not that they're not the same, it's that they don't respond to it because it's not their game. we weren't complaining about this when Boston got physical last spring or when game 3 against NY got physical. last night they just happened to lose. other times, they win. |
