A St.louis-Chicago first rd matchup could be the best series in the playoffs this year. Such a shame they have to play eachother that early.
- cburgess

yep but Chicago kind of brings it on themselves by coasting through the regular season.

comparable ice time as well?
- Yeti1181

Galchenyuk was pretty mucha third liner in the last two years. With little to no PP time. So I would say yes.

Very good then as I would say the teams are pretty comparable at the times as well.

Not saying he will become as productive as seguin, but his numbers are ok considering his age and role on the team.

Man I can wait to see him suck in the playoffs. No more excuses to keep him around what so ever because he had a good run at the right time.

I think they realize that they just need to get into the playoffs. No point in busting a nut to get the top seed and be worn out before the playoffs even start.

Very well could be though, although I do think Seguin is an unbelievable talent but even if he gets close he will be a very good top line guy.

Ya, He won't be as good as seguin, but he is still legit. He just needs an oportunity to become that guy. I really hope they realize that and give him the chance starting next season. Put him with patches and gallager and let him grow into the role.

There has been altogether too much hockey discussion in here today. It's unnerving.

I don't disagree.

You have to give to get, I just hope MB doesn't give too much.

I think the question is do we have enough of a shot AND enough quality prospects to burn a couple of picks. Because we can't spare any impact roster players.

Galchenyuk doesn't have his speed or overall talent IMO
He'll be a 75 point guy, Seguin 90

Habs have 3-4 years to win the cup. No need to sell the farm for shot term glory IMO.

I'm on the fence with it. I don't feel they do have much in Hamilton, but then I look at Markov's age and the way Price is playing right now. Tough choice.

I don't think this year is the year. DD isn't good enough to matchup against teows, getzlaf, kopitar etc. I'd wait for a few years when galchy is ready to be that guy, and the young kids on defence are ready for an increased role. Altho markov won't be a huge impact player at that point.

I know I'm beating a dead horse but can you imagine McD on the backend, all we have to show for him now is a sombrero.
