F-it...lets stir the pot Forget about NMC's and whatnot...
Pens flame out meekly in Round 1....what to do, what to do?
Malkin and Scuds (gotta take Scuds if you want Malkin) to Edm for Hall, RNH, Nurse, 1st and 2nd rnd picks.
Malkin and Scuds to SJ for Hertl, Couture, Burns, #1
Malkin and Scuds to Anh for Perry, Belesky, Smith-Pell, #1
Malkin and Scuds to Avs for Matt D, Gabby, McGinn, #1 - 87_71_11_29
all of these are ridiculously slanted for the pens. scuderi has negative trade value, Malkin is exceptional but he's not worth all that.

Yep, you said it better than me. - YouMeAndDupuis9
One more thought, the whole thing with Sid and his linemates is ridiculous. Malkin has played with a lot of garbage wings in his career and just keeps cruising along. 71 can play with snipers, grinders, and a lot of garbage in between. 87 seems to have way too specific needs on his wings to fit his game....Maybe somebody should talk to him about changing his game a bit to better adapt to play with other players. Malkin seems to do it quite well. Anybody think 87 could win a Conn Smythe playing with Talbot and Fedetenko? |

i think these 3/4 would help us greatly
bozak, winnik, polak and glencross, to an extent bergenheim(i think we are over valuing him based on his past performances against us in the playoffs, im not sure hes that same player anymore)...not sure how to get them, if we can get them, or what our cap would look like but i think those 3 can help in the playoffs greatly
say kunitz, sutterd, and bennet and maybe a prospect oh wait we dont have any, for bozak winnik and polak...issue here i think is martin isnt wortha damn to anyone but a contender so hes out of that trade picture, and tornto doesnt really need more offensive d men so pouliot probably isnt necessary for them either...i dont think those 3 on our end necessarily get that deal done though |

I live in Atlantic City, I used to live in Pittsburgh; that's my home town. We have a nickname in ATLANTIC CITY for MAF its, " cheese puff"; it snot just me that calls him that. Its also the guy that looks back at me in the bathroom when I brush my teeth, we high five and naked ass bump. I make a lot of money though, bring your money to Atlantic City; I will gladly give it to my mother and sister and they will work for you!! Im not really sure what they do but one thing I do know is that they both call MAF "Afro Puff"; its not just them though there is a homeless guy that lives in ATLANTIC CITY he likes to bet on hockey games when he finds enough change in the street to place a bet, he also calls MAF that. Sometime when I paint my face black and run around like an Indian in ATLANTIC CITY I call MAF "Puff Daddy" that's just to mix it up a bit; but its not only me that calls him that its also the strange bugs that live in my underwear. I LIVE IN ATLANTIC CITY, but I used to live in Pittsburgh my home town, I am 86 years old, I can really assess hockey very well; I technically cant see the TV per say but I know its there. I call MAF " Puff the Magic Dragon" Its not only me that calls him that. I live in ATLANTIC CITY, did I mention I live in ATLANTIC CITY; its not only me that calls it that; people actually thought it was a good idea because its a CITY by the ATLANTIC.

I cant think of many players with a higher trade value than Malkin.
Sid, Toews, Kane, Ovechkin, Kopitar? ...I don't know, I can't think of many in that stratosphere.
I think he's worth that, if he's not worth that, then you don't trade him...simple as that. |

No. Malkin is a far more complete player and centers are more important than wingers. |

Nope, doesn't solve any problem. Ovi would potentially score more goals but play worse defense and have less assists. Plus we'd be a one line team...whos the 2C? And its not like we'd be saving cap space. In superstar trades it would make more sense to trade to trade Malkin for Mackinnon or something...but still just not a great idea. |

Staal would be paid as the #2.. unless of course he still had his hissy fit and wanted to play with one of his brothers. In those 10 years, I'm sure they could find a #2 center.
EDIT: Just saw your edit, I would entertain a Malkin for Mackinnon + |

I only think Winnik and Bergenheim are reasonable trade options that might improve the team. Toronto would love Pouliot and happily take him. But no way I'd be trading him. He is going to be a quality top 4 dman.

let's take the Oiler's part in that suggested trade:
they give up Hall, RNH, Nurse, a 1st and a 2nd. Their top left wing, top center, top defensive prospect who will play next year, plus a 1st and a 2nd, for one guy and a salary dump? come on. Yes, you'll happily keep him and I would be happy with Malkin as well, but at least try to make it somewhat reasonable when discussing trades. Otherwise you may as well discuss trading him for a purple elephant and a unicorn.

Can you imagine that? Sid, Ovi and Toews... wow. Letang would easily not be here with that cap those three would eat. |

Any thought to the idea that Johnston is practicing them too hard? They seem to be canceling a few more practices than normal this year but when they do practice they seem to go hard (according to various reporters accounts) - Deadstar
I don't think they look tired. They do look incompetent however. Some of these passes they're attempting are plain stupid. It's like they can't help themselves by trying to pass through 3 sticks.
I've read multiple quotes from MJ talking about getting the puck to the net and scoring goals in the paint. They simply refuse to do it. I don't know how you fix that if the coach is saying one thing and the players are doing the opposite. Trade players or fire the coach are pretty much the only options. |

Used to think that whole thing was overblown...but I can't ignore it anymore. I think it's a very fair point.
Plus, no data to back this up, but Sid seems to play his best against teams like Buffalo. I think Geno elevates better in big games against better teams. |
