F-it...lets stir the pot Forget about NMC's and whatnot...
Pens flame out meekly in Round 1....what to do, what to do?
Malkin and Scuds (gotta take Scuds if you want Malkin) to Edm for Hall, RNH, Nurse, 1st and 2nd rnd picks.
Malkin and Scuds to SJ for Hertl, Couture, Burns, #1
Malkin and Scuds to Anh for Perry, Belesky, Smith-Pell, #1
Malkin and Scuds to Avs for Matt D, Gabby, McGinn, #1 - 87_71_11_29
Malkin for hall and a 2nd
Malkin for couture and a 1st
Malkin for perry and a 3rd
Malkin for duchene and 2nd
All returns are worse if they take on scud

Really all I am seeing is... Rig the lottery for McDavid by trading Malkin for a 1st rounder |

First one would work cap wise until RNH/Nurse need contracts, but when Kunitz etc are off the books by then. I like it.
Second one cap might work, I would also do this.
Third would also work. Might need another pick though |

Taken from tweets so pardon the grammar... this was the jist of it..
H was embarrased as a fan, announcer and former player. Said he has been part of Pens for 30+. And this is NOT Pens Hockey. Said every player should be afraid of being traded. team way to cozy. Said doesn't matter who coaches are.. We fire gm/coach made some changes. Only constant is 71/87/58. They should be embarrased and angry. Time for Sid to Be a vocal, critical leader. if he doesn't like what coaches want, tough. never heard him go off like that, ever Really thot Sid runnibng team was just consp theory. It is not. He is the problem - YouMeAndDupuis9
I'd have to agree here, other than the last part. I mean he does have a say obviously, but not as much as you would think. |

if you are really going to stir the pot i think malkin is the better player compared to sid right now, then again maybe geno has higher value right now |

It's always fun to fantasize but I would never trade Malkin. Those are some good hauls but generational talent > 1 star and a few good players. Unless that Edm pick is McEichel...otherwise, count me out. |

love malkin but with Sid being the #1C Malkin doesn't normally face the other teams shutdown players...

I know that's exactly what we needed in theory....but we still aren't scoring. - YouMeAndDupuis9
That is only one aspect of the game that needed an upgrade. We are still plagued by poor neutral zone play and an average defensive corps.
We turn the puck over too often in the neutral zone, most of the time it is poor passing or forcing a pass that isn't there. Both forwards and defense are equally at fault here and it is a big reason why we lost the last two games.
Nobody is afraid of our dmen. As much as we like to think, Kris Letang is good but he is not Paul Coffey, Paul Martin is not Larry Robinson, Robert Bortuzzo is not Scott Stevens, Rob Scuderi is not close to what he once was, etc.
Having said that, I still like this team and the neutral zone play can be improved, so there is still things to be excited about. |

Thus inflating his value like Niskenin's did |

I would trade neither. But just playing the game...I'm crazy enough to say I'd trade Sid before Malkin. Sid has long been my favorite player. Post-concussion Sid is a different player. |

That generational talent had a terrible turn over in his own zone that lead to the 1st goal when the Pens couldnt get out of their own zone. As good as 71 is, I feel Geno Machino shows up for the easy games. And yeah he never faces the Dubinskys of other teams either. |

FYI - Bourque will be on Savran radio at 1 today. After the last post game radio segment, I will be listening intently to that one. It's the first I can recall any mainstream Pens media say anything like that...other than than Rossi-jabroney |

Pouliot completely lost Hartnell on that first goal. |

Pouliot played very poorly last night. But that should be expected from time to time when you have a rookie dman playing 18+ minutes.

Do you think DP is a little burned out? Should the Pens sit him a game or two? He is a stud, but the learning curve might be just a little too steep. |

1st (Martin)
Smith Pelly+pick or Maroon, Silfverburg or Palimeri. Might have to add a lower round pick somewhere in there, maybe not |

He did. But hes not alone in defensemen flying the defensive zone to get up ice before the puck is out. Just so happened to lead to a goal this time.

Im with you. Trading either is horribly stupid and completely unnecessary. That being said, Id keep Malkin if it came to it. In the playoffs, Malkin's size and strength allow him to create more as the clutching and grabbing increases/doesnt get called. Not taking anything away from Sid, but he does not have the physical gifts 71 does that allow him to be more successful in tighter checking games. |

Any thought to the idea that Johnston is practicing them too hard? They seem to be canceling a few more practices than normal this year but when they do practice they seem to go hard (according to various reporters accounts) |
